I don’t really consider myself someone who’s good with words, or maybe just not this kind. Nothing ever seems to convey the magnitude of emotions and meaning in a way that feels anywhere near faithful enough to what I’m trying to say (Which is certainly why I write songs instead).
But I am trying anyways. This album is so incredibly special to me. I started writing it two and a half years ago and haven’t stopped obsessing over it since. I think I have never felt more proud of a body of work and it’s honestly strange to comprehend that it isn’t just mine anymore.
I hope you love this album like I do, I hope it feels like it’s yours. ♥️
The process of making this project was so different from how I’ve made anything before, and I am so grateful to Jon for making it feel so easy and for helping me to shape these songs into what they are.
Co-produced by Jonathan Pearce and me Mixed by Jonathan Pearce Mastered by Kevin Tuffy
Violin on ‘to be seen’ by Charmian Keay Drums on ‘toothache’ by Jessy Reed Electric guitar on ‘toothache’ by Jon Pearce Wurlitzer on ‘calico’ by Jon Pearce Strings on ‘[there is still time]’ by me!
my new EP, 'flush', is available to preorder now on transparent violet vinyl! i’ve also made some new t-shirts and hoodies that feature my linoleum stamp I made for the artwork :)
'flush' is out on nov 22 and i’m very excited to have it out in the world.
My new EP ‘flush’ comes out November 22nd 💧 (cover on the second slide)
This project is 5 songs written at many different times over the last two-ish years. They all feel like entirely separate worlds, both sonically and thematically, and that was very much my intention.
I post a lot of clips of songs on social media that I never end up finishing, but I thought I should dedicate a project to releasing some of the songs that I still really care for but that I knew wouldn’t fit into the next full album I make.
I hope u love them like I do.
I co-produced this EP with Jonathan Pearce (The Beths). I’m so grateful for everything that he brought to each song, and for seeing my vision so clearly and letting me agonize over the small details while also reminding me when something didn’t need to be agonized over.
I hope ur enjoying the first two singles, more soon ! 💜 (first photo by Marlowe Ostara)
SURPRISE!!!! 🦷 toothache out now 🦷 I’m very excited to share this song with you, it’s yours now have fun!! :> the whole lyric video, made by Marlowe Ostara, is now on YouTube 🐄 (2nd announcement coming later today)
this song was co-produced by me and Jonathan Pearce (The Beths), who also plays a bangin guitar solo in it :) drums by Jessica Reed mastered by Kevin Tuffy
also…some additional thoughts: this song is kind of nerve wracking to release because it doesn’t really sound like anything else I’ve released before or really plan on releasing in the future. But I made it and it was fun so I’m releasing it and I hope u think it’s fun too :) so here is an extremely rare fun searows song :) cherish it cause who knows if it will ever happen again! Love ya
