July 13th, 2023. That was to be my due date of our sweet baby we lost in November 2022. Today is always hard and makes my heart ache, but also makes me look forward to Heaven even more. It’s a bittersweet feeling. Knowing that I was blessed with the twins - and you can’t convince me otherwise - for the baby we lost brings tears to my eyes.
I can’t imagine our lives, our busy, chaotic, difficult in the most beautiful way lives, without Tillman and Cooper. Rowdy was our first blessing and changed our lives in all the best ways. The babies completed our family.
So today I will hold my littlest love, Cooper, a little tighter and closer. My sons heal my heart every day, and I don’t know what I did to deserve to be their mother. 💙💙💙👼
Our annual Sunday morning picture, and my heart could burst. I’m living the days I used to pray so hard for! Although it’s hard, tiring, unpredictable and chaotic most days, it’s full of laughter, sweetness, and blessings upon blessings. 💙💙💙
I wanted to update you all and let you know that I will not have a video Wednesday. I’m ok, but I had a health scare and it’s been a world wind of the last 48 hours!
During the night on Friday night, I started having severe pain in my right shoulder/upper back. I thought I had slept on it wrong, although it felt worse than that. I eventually dozed back off. Cooper woke up at 3:30, and it woke me up. I had to go to the bathroom so I told Cooper I’d be right back. As I was walking to the bathroom across the house, I had tears in my eyes from the shoulder pain.
In the bathroom, I started sweating out of nowhere and felt like I was going to pass out. I wanted to call for Kenny but I knew he wouldn’t hear me. I stayed in there for a few minutes until I felt like I could walk. I came back in the living room and grabbed my Stanley to get some water. I remember drinking some and then I blacked out and when I opened my eyes, I had fallen on the floor and hit the back of the recliner. Kenny heard the sound and immediately came out of the bedroom. When I felt like I could, he helped me up and I sat down at the island. I could talk to him and I knew something wasn’t right. I just felt very lightheaded and the pain in my shoulder blade felt unbearable. He checked my blood pressure and blood sugar, and neither number was concerning enough that we thought that’s what it was. I got upset and I was scared. Kenny had to get me to calm down because I had a small panic attack. It’s very scary to know something isn’t right with yourself, but you have no idea what it could be or what to do.
He called my mom and Ethan and they came over to watch the babies. Rowdy was spending the night with Bubba so we knew he was taken care of. We drove to the emergency room and they were wonderful and got me back in the room very quickly. Once I talked to the nurse about all the symptoms and everything that had happened, the doctor came and at that point they were thinking it may be related to my gallbladder. He said that gallbladder problems can radiate to the right shoulder due to certain nerves which I had never heard of and I was also having other symptoms related to that. I had blood work done and also a chest x-ray.
Once we had been there for a while and all of my blood work and everything had been sent to the lab and checked, the doctor came back in and said that all of my blood work was normal related to my gallbladder and that the chest x-ray showed that I had upper tube pneumonia. I had pneumonia that had developed in my lung right where I was saying I had the radiating pain. They gave me antibiotics through my IV and also a prescription for an antibiotic to take orally. I am very thankful that we went onto the emergency room because I probably would have never known that I had pneumonia because I have not even had a cough which the doctor said could develop later but for right now I have not had a cough or any other symptoms other than not feeling great the last couple of days.
As scary as the blacking out and falling was, I am thankful that I did that because if it had just been the shoulder pain, I would never have gone to the doctor for that and just chalked it up to either how I had slept on it or I had pulled something. I never would’ve thought that I had pneumonia in my lung. I’m so thankful that God led us to go where we went, for my husband and my family for taking such good care of me, and I am thankful to be home and that I don’t have to have gallbladder removal surgery and just praying that these antibiotics work soon. My shoulder already is in less pain than it was earlier and the doctor said that should continue to subside the longer that I’m on the antibiotic. And although it was scary, especially this morning when I didn’t know what was going on with my body, I’m glad that I listened to myself and my feelings and that we went somewhere because God showed me that something wasn’t right and I’m so glad I went to get checked out. I feel like lately I’ve been so worried about Cooper and knowing he hasn’t felt good and just you know the anticipation of his upcoming tubes, that even if I didn’t feel 100%, I probably ignored my symptoms because that’s what you do as a Mama. But we have to take care of ourselves too y’all, and I’m so thankful that I went and got seen about because I know that pneumonia left untreated can be very, very scary.
I appreciate any and all prayers. I’ve had some moments throughout the last 2 days that I have felt pretty bad again. Praying it’s all uphill from here. 🤍
We are also scheduled to leave for our yearly vacation to Tennessee on Thursday so I NEED to get better! I plan to film bits of each day and share them as shorts/reels on my social media platforms. Thank you in advance for your prayers, and I’ll see you when I see you, friends!
Friends, I will have a Patriotic decorating marathon up when it ever decides to finish uploading! I’ve been trying for 2 days to get it to upload. Also, my decorating video with my patriotic decor for this year may not be out until Wednesday. My little Cooper has been sick and we have to get tubes tomorrow morning. I don’t think I’ll have time to edit the video. But you should see it Wednesday! Thank you for understanding!
How are we already here? These two little blessings are growing and changing so much every day. They completed our family and have brought more love into our lives than we knew was possible.
Tillman is full of spirit! He is a little roly-polie. He can scoot all around, I think he will be trying to crawl soon! He already loves to meddle! He can open drawers (and some cabinets), and this morning we learned he can reach some candlesticks and grab them too! He loves his Mama, his walker and ROWDY! He just lights up when he sees Rowdy and grabs his faces and gives him kisses. Literally melts my heart. He loves his bottle and to eat! He has caught up to Cooper in weight, and I can’t believe he ever weighed 4 pounds.
Cooper man is so sweet. However, he is not a fan of sleep, especially at night! (Surviving on lots of caffeine over here!) He can say Da-da, no-no, bye-bye (when he wants to), AND Rowdy and I heard him say Ma-ma two times one night so it counts! 😉 He eats good too! He thinks Axel is hilarious and loves Rowdy too! He is super fast in his walker and loves to run in it! He thinks his Daddy hung the moon and just lights up anytime Kenny is around. He loves to rub your face and still enjoys snuggling with Mama. He’s our little sweetheart!
Happy 8 months, our precious little boys! We love you more than all of the yellow butterflies in the world! I am also not well at all that we are only 4 months away from them being 1! Slow down, time. 💙💙
Friends, my babies have needed me today and I haven’t been able to film my video. Instead of stressing to get it done, I’m choosing to snuggle them! So there will not be a video tomorrow. BUT, I plan to have one Wednesday and next Sunday. Thank you for understanding! ❤️
So life is BUSY! I didn’t get to film what I planned for this week. I think I’m going to film a “Spring Day in the Life”/“Spring Refresh” video tomorrow to share on Sunday. Would y’all like that style of video? I plan to share a decorating video next week. From now until the end of school, my videos may just have to be what I have time to share! Being a wife, Mama to 3, and having a full time job takes up all of my time! Thank you for understanding.
