Our mission is to financially empower women.

Why women? On average, women's pensions are significantly worse off than men’s due to gender pay gap and childcare commitments. I strongly believe that we can change these stats. I want to help women to strive to be more financially independent, to live their lives on their terms, while feeling secure and confident about their present and future.

We need to talk more openly about money, overcome our limiting beliefs and learn everything we’ve never been taught about finance.

Vestpod is here to help you in this journey, from building a healthy relationship with money to saving more and investing for the long term. While investing sounds scary and complicated (because it’s more risky than saving), once you’re ready to start, it’s a powerful way to grow your savings for the long term and invest in what you believe in.

Women are often told the path to success is simple: be more confident, ask for more, lean in and work harder.

But what happens when women do all of those things and still do not receive the same outcomes?

In this episode of The Wallet, Emilie Bellet speaks with journalist and author ‪@StefanieOConnell‬ about her new book The Ambition Penalty and the hidden costs women still face when expressing ambition at work and at home.

The conversation explores workplace bias, negotiation backlash, burnout, unpaid labour, identity, and why inequality is often reproduced through systems rather than individual choices.

They cover:
Why financial avoidance is often a form of protection
How time blindness impacts spending and planning
The link between impulse spending and frictionless payments
Why “discipline” is the wrong framework for money
What a system that actually works for your brain looks like

Earning £100K (or close)? Here's what to think about!

In this episode of The Wallet, Emilie Bellet (Vestpod) is joined by ‪@phillyfinancial‬, financial coach and chartered wealth manager, to unpack why high income does not always translate into wealth.

We look at why money can still disappear at £100K+, how lifestyle creep quietly builds, the belief that blocks many from investing, the impact of the £100K childcare tax trap, and what a clear, practical financial system actually looks like.

Why does building wealth feel complicated, slow, or out of reach, even when you are earning and doing “the right things”?

In this episode of The Wallet, Emilie Bellet (Vestpod) is joined by Mary and Ken Okoroafor, founders of ‪@TheHumblePenny‬ and authors of The Wealth Habit. Together, we unpack why wealth is less about income and more about habits, identity, and systems, and how small, consistent actions can create long-term financial security.
