I've been spending some quality time with friends and family over the last couple of weeks and haven't been able to get a video together for this week. I think I'll probably just get back into the groove in January after Christmas and New Year is out of the way.

📢 New Video Coming TODAY!

I’ve been working on something a bit wild…
I connected a full-size AMD RX 6700XT GPU to a Raspberry Pi 5 using the uPCIty Lite PCIe HAT — and got Vulkan-accelerated Llama models running with a huge boost in performance.

3B models jumped from around 7 tokens/sec on the Pi alone to ~90 tokens/sec with the GPU. 🤯

In the video, I’ll walk through:
🔧 Building a custom kernel with AMDGPU support
⚡ Setting up Vulkan + llama.cpp acceleration
🧠 Running 3B, 8B and 13.45B models
🌐 Integrating with Open WebUI
…plus everything that didn’t work along the way!

☀️ Summer vacation + satellite internet = success?

I brought the Starlink Mini with me on holiday to see if it could actually handle real-world internet needs — streaming, working, uploading... all while surrounded by trees 🌲

The speeds were surprisingly good, but I ran into one issue that might catch you out if you're planning to rely on Starlink while traveling this summer.
