It's finally happening. If you are a Member/Patron, you already have access to the early scenes, and I just received the rest of the voice clips from the VA. We're finally getting things done. While I still can't tell when this video is coming out, we're now in the editing stages so it's bound to come out sometime this week or the next. And since it will be over 10 minutes, we're premiering it!

It feels like forever since I last posted, but looks like in reality it's only been a few days. But then again, it's been nearly a month since the last video, so it has a been while. Well I'm just here to confirm that I am still working on the next video. The thing is I ran out of frames, at least good frames, to show off as a WIP. The only ones I have left are these that aren't that good, but only because its a wild take and quality isn't exactly necessary for it. Anything else will just fall into spoiler territory. You'll just have to wait til I'm doing video editing, then I will be able to post WIPs again, but that all depends on when I get the voice clips from the volunteer VA. But at least for now, I am working on finishing the recorded lines. Once all lines are edited, then video editing begins. So it's hard to say when the video will come out at this point, but please be patient as things have been crazy since last week with the release of the game. I thank you for your patience.

Things are moving now. I'm right now writing the next jourinal entry. It will be ready in a few days. The next video is now back in production at a steady pace as I'm now recording lines. I have a new volunteer to voice but they are attending Touhoufest so I won't be able to continue with the video until they finish their lines. That's how it is with volunteers so we just have to be patient until they come back. But because this is a long video, you guys will be waiting for a while longer as it will take its time. But if you are a Patron or youtube Member, I will be uploading early access to each scene so you guys will be getting it sooner than you think.

And that concludes the week long event of the relaunch of Touhou Volleyball Danmaku. I had so much fun playing with you guys and watching you play my game. It was exciting. Though the game is still rough around the edges at some points, I feel that the game is much better than the release of v1.0. In fact, most of the issue were from the online component, and yet still we managed to have great matches. I will continue to improve the online, but it's going to take time since this is one aspect of game creation that I really need help from others. It's just so difficult to make an online game by yourself, even if you have multiple computers like I do. But still, as I said, we had some great matches and it was so much fun that I figured that we should do it again. I've thought about doing live streams but I really didn't know what kind, and now that I made an attempt during this week, I realized that I really don't want to do live streams. I'm not cut out for it, I felt awkward doing it. It was good to try but I'm going to leave the let's plays to the professionals because I ain't it. I think I'll just stick to something easier, like making dumb cartoons. But what I did enjoy was playing online with you guys, so I'm thinking of making this a regular thing and on a platform where there is a possibility of getting a higher audience like Twitch, or even here on youtube. But that will be for the future, because now things have officially changed.

Now that v1.100 is now out, that's it, I completed the task that I set out to do, and practically lost a lot. I no longer have my old apartment, all the stuff I had before is long gone. I really have nothing because I wanted to make this work. But it's now apparent that this is going to take time, a lot longer than just a week long event. I'm going to continue to work on the game but right now I feel like I should be improving the game and promoting it more so now that v1.100 is complete.

I have a lot more to say about this, so I will be spending some time to write the upcoming journal entry about it and let you know what is going to happen now. Things aren't the same as it was back when I started Compact Youmu, and they're going to get even more different.

And as for the next video, I must admit I had very little time to work on it. There isn't much to it left, just a few more frames to sketch and then complete them, then I can move on to recording lines. But this is a long video so it's going to take a while to make and the event pretty much ate a lot of its time. But now I have more time to make videos, maybe. I don't know what's going to happen now. All I know is that things are going to change even more drastically than before.

It is on! The game has officially released version 1.100 and I had just had the day one live stream. It was pretty good and I'll be doing this all week long during the Steam event. Right now I'm just playing through the story campaign to demonstrate the changes but soon enough I'll be doing some online matchmaking later on.

But even during this event, I am still busy with the next video. With version 1 pretty much done, just a few updates here and there, there is now more time open, that means that there is now more time to work on the video. Mainly because I don't have anything else to do because I'm concentrating on the Steam event and seeing how I can promote it, the schedule is no more open than ever. But don't think the next video is going to come out this week because we're back to making long videos. This next video is going to be over 10 minutes long so it's going to take a while. I might bring back the early access to Patrons just to keep activity up. But at the same time, it's not going to be anything complicated. I'm actually trying to find ways to make the video while drawing as little frames as possible. That won't necessarily make the process go faster, I still gotta record lines and work with a volunteer, but it should help getting the scenes out quicker. But in any case, look forward to the next video for sure.

The release of v1.100 continues. If you didn't participate in today's event, then I look forward to seeing you in tomorrow's or any other during the week. I'll be live streaming a bit later tomorrow, starting from 2pm. So if you haven't checked out the game yet, the demo has been updated to v1.100 standards to give you a sample of what the game is about.
