Flash Studio version 1.7.7 appears to include some variation on Full Spectrum that Flashforge is calling Color Mixing. It's not as straight forward to me as the Snapmaker and Bambu implementations. I'll keep playing around with it.
Hey, everyone. I've been seeing some angry Flashforge comments lately and I want to clear up some things based on the accusations I've heard.
1. Flash Studio has ads: Yes, there is a single banner ad for Meshy AI in the slicer. Clicking on it opens a browser tab to the Meshy AI website. It's only located on the device page when the device list option is selected. It does not appear anywhere else in the slicer. It is not being pushed down our throats. You will not see it the overwhelming majority of the time. (See pic #1)
2. The Creator 5/Pro don't support OrcaSlicer: There is currently no profile for these printers in the latest stable build of OrcaSlicer. That does not mean there will never be a profile. If you check the OrcaSlicer nightly build files on Github, you will see profiles for the Creator 5/Pro. A user also commented profiles are available in the Linux nightly build. There's a good chance the profiles will be added to the stable OrcaSlicer release when it's ready. (See pic #2)
3. The latest firmware updates for the Adventurer 5 series restricts OrcaSlicer: This is not true. My AD5M Pro is running the latest firmware 5.14-2.2.3. I am still able to connect to the printer in LAN mode from OrcaSlicer and send sliced files remotely. You still cannot monitor the printer from OrcaSlicer, but that has always been a Flashforge restriction. Yes, it sucks, but it's not new. (see pic #3)
I'll make a video that covers this and more, but here's some information comparing the Creator 5 and Snapmaker U1 during the print startup process:
- Identical prints started at 1:55pm -Filament calibration for the Creator 5 started at 1:58pm -Filament calibration for the U1 started at 1:59pm -U1 finished calibration at 2:09pm -Creator 5 finished calibration at 2:11pm -U1 began print start procedures at 2:10pm -Creator 5 began print start procedures at 2:13pm
Even though the Creator 5 starts working before the U1, it has longer delays in between swapping toolheads for calibration and beginning its print start procedures. I'll weigh the waste when the prints are done.
The humidity level in my space is over 50%. Now is a great time to use my Chitu Systems E1 filament dryer with the Creator 5. (The red baby filament won't fit in there properly).

OrcaSlicer 2.4.0-alpha is now available and includes profiles for the Flashforge Creator 5 and Creator 5 Pro.
Also, the infamous banner ad in Flash Studio that made some people upset is gone. Not sure if it'll return, but it's gone for now.

@thenextlayer Created a compact waste bucket for the Flashforge Creator 5 and posted it on Printables. It needs four 5x2 magnets and seems to work just fine. Check it out! www.printables.com/model/1701884-flashforge-creato…

Here's one from the Snapmaker U1. A mashup of The Simpsons meets Lord of the Rings. This took 12+ hours.

This is my first long print on the Creator 5. It took over 14 hours and did 832 filament swaps.
