Los Angeles — June 2 primary is in 10 days and most people don't even know it's happening. That's exactly how the establishment wins.
I live in this city. I park in these neighborhoods. These races directly affect rent, homelessness, immigration enforcement, and who the city actually fights for.
Here's who DSA-LA is backing and why it matters:
🌹 Marissa Roy — City Attorney. Civil rights lawyer who's fought for tenants and immigrants. The alternative to an incumbent who's been going after unhoused people and cozying up to police unions.
🌹 Kenneth Mejia — City Controller. The first CPA to hold this office. Created LA's first homelessness spending tracker so we can actually see where the money goes.
🌹 Eunisses Hernandez — CD-1. Delivered the biggest renter protections in a generation. Made LA a Sanctuary City.
🌹 Estuardo Mazariegos — CD-9. Lifelong community organizer backed by UTLA, SEIU, and progressive unions. Not a machine candidate.
🌹 Faizah Malik — CD-11. Managing attorney at Public Counsel — 15 years defending renters and immigrants.
🌹 Dr. Rocío Rivas — LAUSD Board District 2. Anti-privatization, pro-public education.
