Soooooo..... turns out Prof. Jiang is leaving China...which is something I expected.

I've seen comments asking me to cover Professor Jiang more and even try to get him on the show. I hear you.

I know a lot of you are fans, and honestly, I get the appeal. There are definitely things he says that resonate with my own experiences...especially when he talks about being chinese growing up in the west.

That said, I’m sure you’ve noticed I’ve been a bit quiet on his content from the get go. Here is the truth... I have a weird feeling about what happens next.

I've had my concerns about the direction some of his rhetoric could take, especially now that he’s confirmed he’s leaving China. I really, really hope I’m wrong here, but I have a fear that he could turn into a "Gordon Chang 2.0", I think you guys know what I mean.

I’m not saying that will happen, but...yeah...

Just something on my mind, how do you guys feel?

China turned out to be the only major power whose oil reserves were not affected after the war with Iran. While others saw major dips, China’s stockpile held steady and even grew.

So after all that, Trump's big war didn't move the needle on China's reserves... real strategic masterpiece there. 🤡

SWIFT data may understate yuan usage because more transactions now flow through China's own CIPS system.

"Petroyuan" surged after the Iran conflict exposed dollar vulnerabilities

On April 2, CIPS hit a record 1.22 trillion yuan ($180B) in daily volume — nearly double February's average

Pfizer’s new oncology partnership with China’s Innovent Biologics is not just another licensing headline. It is a useful snapshot of how the global pharmaceutical industry is changing. A Chinese biotech company has built enough scientific credibility in next-generation cancer drugs that one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies is willing to commit $650 million upfront and as much as $10.5 billion in total potential deal value to access its pipeline.

"Just days after reports that China blocked Nvidia’s RTX 5090D V2 gaming GPU to reduce dependence on U.S. chips, Chinese companies are now rolling out more homegrown alternatives.

First: Lisuan Tech unveiled the LX 7G100 GPU
• 12GB GDDR6
• Built on China’s own “TrueGPU” architecture
• WHQL-certified drivers
• Runs 100+ modern games • Performance reportedly around RTX 3060 / RTX 4060 territory at 1080p

The LX 7G100 may not beat Nvidia yet, but it's a good start."

Remember they laughed at BYD at the start....
