This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

We are deeply grateful for the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of those who served—and for the families who carry both the pride and the weight of that sacrifice.

Today, we remember. We honor. And we give thanks.

This week, we’re honored to introduce one of our new elders, Matt Fulks.

Matt and his wife Libby have been missional partners at Christ Connect for more than 25 years—and Matt’s roots here run even deeper, having grown up in the church and being baptized here in 1981.

Matt and Libby met at Lipscomb University (where she played basketball and he was the team’s radio broadcaster!) and will celebrate 32 years of marriage this May. They have three adult children: Helen, Charlie, and Aaron.

Matt currently serves as the Executive Director of the C You In The Major Leagues Foundation, a long-time community partner of Christ Connect focused on mentoring high school students across Kansas City. Before that, he spent more than 25 years in journalism across TV, radio, and print—and has written more than 25 books along the way.

At Christ Connect, Matt and Libby have been involved in many ways over the years, including helping start the Young Families LINK and serving in children’s and creative ministries. Matt has also written, produced, and directed several Christmas plays for the church.

They are grateful to call Christ Connect home and enjoy doing life with their church family—and we’re grateful for the heart and leadership they bring.

Today was a special day. 🩵

We had the honor of celebrating our high school seniors and the season they’re stepping into.

From meaningful moments in worship to being surrounded by a church family that loves and supports them—it was a day full of gratitude, reflection, and joy.

We’re so proud of each of these seniors and who they are becoming. We’re praying for them as they step into this next chapter, trusting that God is leading every step of the way.

A day we won’t forget. 🩵

This week, we’re honored to introduce one of our new elders, Angela Williams.

Angela and her husband Dave have been missional partners at Christ Connect Church since 1991 and will celebrate their 47th wedding anniversary this August. They enjoy spending time with their family, including their children Justin (wife Amy) and Brittany (husband Keven), along with their seven grandchildren who all live in the area.

Angela faithfully served on staff at Christ Connect for 24 years as an Administrative Assistant in Student Ministries and in the main office. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management and Human Relations from MidAmerica Nazarene University and is a trained Spiritual Director.

Over the years, Angela and Dave have served our church family in many ways, including leading the Widows Ministry and hosting life groups for both adults and teens. Angela has also served in several leadership roles within Prayer Ministry and Women’s Ministry.

Angela has a deep passion to see people grow in intimacy with Christ through prayer, and we’re grateful for the wisdom, faithfulness, and heart she brings to our church family.

Christ Connect Church

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing the men and women stepping into the role of elder. This week, we’re honored to introduce David Keller.

David and his wife Allie became missional partners at Christ Connect in the spring of 2024. They met while in school in Memphis, Tennessee, and were married in 1972. They have three adult children and three grandchildren, with most of their family now here in the KC area.

David and Allie spent their careers in Christian higher education—David teaching Bible and communication, and Allie serving as a library director. Along the way, David has also served as a preaching minister and elder, primarily in congregations in the Northeast.

Since coming to Christ Connect, they’ve been faithfully serving as greeters and in children’s worship, and David has also been helping as a deacon in our community partnership ministries.

David shared:
“Our lives have been blessed in our work and worship at Christ Connect, and we have loved getting to know and share our lives with so many missional partners here. We want to grow in Christ with this body of believers as God gives us opportunities of service.”

We’re grateful for David and Allie and the heart they bring to our church family. 🤍
