Daily Dose of Honest Science
Dear DDHS Family,
I know it's been a while since my last video — life in the lab has been keeping me flat out, but new content is on the way, I promise.
In the meantime, I had a wonderful opportunity to give a talk at a science slam at my institute. As a mass spectrometrist, I usually spend my days looking at data most people would find… let's say overwhelming. But the reward is real: from a single sample, we can identify thousands of proteins and detect tiny chemical modifications that show up decades before diseases like Alzheimer's ever cause symptoms. One of the most promising early markers we're currently studying is a phosphorylation on the Tau protein — and it's changing how we think about early diagnosis.
More on the science slam (including a Star Wars-themed animation I built for the talk) coming very soon.
Until then, let a little dose of honest science into your life and brighten up your day!

Daily Dose of Honest Science
Dear DDHS Family,
I AM STILL ALIVE XD!!!!
A short update on how everything is going!
But first of all, I really MISS the interaction with you all! The conversations and questions you often pose! I wish my work would be done soon but it still requires some time to be ready for sending it out for a journal. But I am confident that this will happen soon!
So Picture 1 represents me what I have been doing all day. And include me sitting in front of the computer and getting squared shape eyes. No picture available for that ;-)
As some of you wanted to a behind the scenes video, I am working on this.
Next up I already have two podcast episodes in my pocket but unfortunately could not finish editing. So I hope to release them by End of May and Mid June.
Besides my work I am also responsible for the machine I have been posting a while ago. And as you can see I want to stay positive showing the peace sign while being frustrated that my machine has an existential crisis XD.
On top I had the opportunity to supervise a very talented Master Student, maybe some people have seen her on my Instagram story. I went with her on a big conference all about analytical instruments and sample preparation in different fields. It was super interesting and I had a great time outside the lab walls. I also included a picture of one onf my assays, shown with the magnetic beads (black points) inside the plastic tubes. My student was a blessing for me and my projects. She nailed it and helped me to get only an idea to execution and to a really cool finding. So now it is again up to me to show the reproducibility and hopefully (fingers crossed) this will be published as well.
Picture 4 shows how important it is to take small breaks. I usually love to go out in nature. Spring is here and I am enjoying the warmth of the sun but also the blooming of all flowers. This helps me to come down, reduce stress and refocus. Also I try to work on my health including sports but I am very honest with you, not easy for me if you constantly think you have to be sitting at the computer and finish the paper.
The last picture (5) I found this really inspiring quote on LinkedIn. It is a screenshot and it resonated instantly with me. My question to you: Do you agree? What would you add addtionally?
Once again a big thank you to you all. We have reached >550 subscribers. I am determined and very excited to come back with full energy and really amazing new scientific topics. From the bottom of my heart, thanks for your patience and support. I cannot express enough how amazing you all are! I am really honored to deliver honest science content and found my crowed! You GUYS ROCK!
I will be back soon! Have a wonderful time and let's get honest science into your life and brighten up your day!
Yours

DDHS family 💙
I have some exciting news to share — I was invited as a guest on the BioRevolution podcast hosted by Louise von Stechow and Andreas S. Horchler! 🎙️
We talked about my passion for science communication, proteomics and how it can shape the future of clinical and personalized medicine. It was such a joy to nerd out about science and science communication.
I’m super grateful for the invitation — and don’t worry, new DDHS episodes are coming soon (lab life is just very real right now 😅).
If you give the episode a listen, let me know what you think! 💬✨
Leave some love in the comments and as always let a little dose of honest science into your life and brighten up your day!

Hi DDHS Family,
February is just coming to an end and here I am getting one year older ;-)
Yes, you read correctly, today is my birthday.
I was not sure if I should share it but here I am dancing with you and having fun today. Lately I have been listening to Bruno Mar's song "I just might" and I think it perfectly fits my "vibes" ;-)
So just imagine me dancing to the song. Maybe (only if I really feel it) I will make a short and share it XD.
I am giving a short update regarding me being absent but still working in the background to finally release the next podcast episode. Not easy to balance out everything. On top my body slowly but increasingly tells me that the stress level is going to affect my health. So I really need to finish soon my work. I just want to have my data out and hopefully publish it soon. As we know reviewing processes do take much time and can be really brutal. But I stay optimistic and positive, since I believe the data is showing really important biology and already has been implicated in a certain cancer type. So this has some important value to it.
Once again I want to express my gratitude towards you all and the patience! I know it is not easy and I really try my best to be back soon. As some of you migh be interested in what I am doing, I will be hopefully make a short video explaining it, once most of the work has been done and finally been written down. I am really happy to have such a supportive community. You really make my day much better! Thanks again!
So I wish you all a wonderful start into the new week! Let's tackle all the problems and achieve our goals together! Sending a big hug to all of you! Take care and talk to you soon!
Yours,
Chandni

Hi DDHS Family 🧪✨
I wanted to give you a little update on why things have been a bit quieter here lately.
As you’ve seen from some of the recent pictures, I’m currently deep in the lab — running live cell imaging experiments, analyzing clinical data, and wrapping up some really important open experiments.
Funny note aside, a colleague of mine from another university put me on a scientific poster and presented it in a poster session. I found it out by accident. I am good at promoting things, right? This was a prototype of a machine, where the researchers are now heading to make it available for the scientific community (or industry, if they would need such a UV machine). The science is great and I am happy I could promote it, although for free XD
On the other side, the machine I am taking care had some issues, so that also demanded alot from me. That is why in the picture an olderly man wears an alu hat. Just wanted to be funny here, since sometimes things cannot be explained, why they work as they work ;-)
Right now, I’m in a crucial phase that’s truly pivotal for my next career step. That means I need to channel almost all of my energy into finishing these experiments properly and strong. Science doesn’t wait — and neither do deadlines.
There are times, where I just want to sit and talk about science, not standing every day for hours in the lab :-)
I truly wish I could be online more often and just talk science with you all.
I promised a new episode, and I’m absolutely working on it. But since I handle the research, recording, editing, and production myself, my resources are simply limited at the moment.
That said — from the bottom of my heart — thank you.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you for liking, sharing, and supporting these little honest science videos.
We are growing. And I am so proud of this community. 💙
Once the paper is out, I can finally share more about what I’ve been working on behind the scenes — and I can’t wait for that moment.
Until then: I hope you all have a fantastic week ahead.
Let’s make it a great one together.
Let’s spread some honest science and brighten up someone’s day. 🌍✨

Hi DDHS Family 🤍
How are you doing? I hope you had a great start to the year—hard to believe we’re already at the end of January!
I wanted to share a little behind-the-scenes update with you. Right now, things have shifted quite a bit in my work as a scientist. I’m in a phase where I need to fully focus on completing ongoing projects, and that requires a lot of time, energy, and mental space. Naturally, this has an impact on how often I can produce videos and podcast episodes.
My career currently demands more of me—and that’s something I really want to lean into. I truly see myself continuing in research: developing methods, studying disease mechanisms, and figuring out what’s actually going on beneath the surface. That excitement is very real. At the same time, rearranging everything takes time, and I won’t lie—it does make me a bit sad that I can’t always show up here as consistently as I’d like.
That said: I have managed to record new podcast episodes, and I’m doing my best to also work on a new DDHS video. Thank you so much for your patience and continued support—it means more to me than you know.
And wow… we’ve crossed 500 subscribers 🥹
That honestly blows my mind. Are people really enjoying what I do? Is the content actually helpful? Seeing this growth tells me yes—and that’s incredibly motivating. Thank you for being part of this journey.
As you can imagine, doing DDHS full-time isn’t financially secure right now, and my heart truly beats for science and being at the bench. That’s just who I am. My goal is to continue science communication alongside my research—and I’m really proud of what we’ve built together so far.
I’ll get back to work now, and hopefully soon I can share more about what I’ve been working on. Until then: thank you, truly. Sending you a big hug 🤍
Always remember:
Let a little dose of honest science into your life—and brighten up your day.
Yours,
Chandni

My very first livestream is now ONLINE!
Thanks to everyone for joining! This was really a great way to connect with you all! I had fun and I hope I could provide good scientific insights into the debate.
It was not perfect and I will definetly work more on the volume balance as well as on my way of talking. I was quite nervous and hope to talk better to the camera.
I am planning to make another Live Stream, once I figure out how not to get copy strikes XD.
Now I am taking a small pause and we are going to see us in the new year with fresh new science news and amazing topics in my podcast!
I wish you all a great happy new year 2026 and may the new year bring you wonderful moments, much health and success for your life!
Take care and as always: Let a Little Dose of Honest Science into Your Life & Brighten Up Your Day!
