As an American living abroad, I take a grounded, slower-paced approach to adventure and daily life, exploring culture and meaning without hype, drama, or manufactured conflict.
Many videos are filmed from the seat of my motorcycles, but the heart of the channel is curiosity, perspective, and what a simple, flexible life outside the U.S. can look like.

One thing I never get tired of in the Philippines is the sky.
This sunset was taken up near Buena Vista, just outside Butuan. No filters. No special editing. Just one of those evenings where the sky decides to put on a show.
Moments like this are a big part of why I enjoy riding so much. Sometimes the destination is great, but sometimes it’s just pulling over, shutting off the motorcycle, and taking it all in.
Four years in the Philippines and sunsets like this still stop me in my tracks.

🥜🍌 One of my favorite snacks in the Philippines… Famous Belgian Waffle! 🇵🇭
If you’ve spent much time in the malls here, you’ve probably seen these little waffle stands everywhere.
My go-to is the Peanut Butter & Banana waffle. Simple, cheap, filling, and surprisingly good with a cup of coffee. ☕
It’s one of those things that wasn’t on my radar before moving to the Philippines, but now it’s become a regular stop whenever I’m out running errands or exploring a new city.
Funny how it’s often the little everyday things—not the big tourist attractions—that end up becoming part of life here.

I’ve been reflecting on this a lot lately.
It’s easy to want answers. Easy to want certainty. Easy to want a clear roadmap for what comes next.
But some things can’t be solved by thinking harder. They have to be lived.
I’ve found that many of the biggest chapters of my life—moving to the Philippines, retirement, relationships, learning to ride off-road, even starting this YouTube channel—didn’t come with clear answers. They came one day at a time.

Stopped by Kafae Boran – The Ancient Coffee today and man… just really digging the vibe here. Super friendly people, great coffee, really good food, and just one of those places where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy life a little.
Had an Americano and shrimp pad thai while catching up on comments and thinking about future videos. Honestly, this is one of the things I love most about life out here — finding these chill little spots and slowing down a bit.

Getting older doesn’t mean slowing down completely. If anything, I’m realizing more and more how important it is to keep moving.
One of the best gifts you can give yourself in retirement is taking care of your health. Doesn’t have to be extreme either. Hit the gym. Go for a walk. Ride a bike. Stretch. Go for a run. Just move your body and keep investing in yourself.
At 55, I’m honestly feeling better now than I did a few years ago. Not because I’m trying to become some fitness influencer 😂 but because I want energy for this next chapter of life.
Curious… how are you guys doing in retirement or preparing for it? What are you doing to stay healthy physically and mentally?

Little DIY project day here in the Philippines 🇵🇭🪵
Working on sanding and finishing these brand-new custom mahogany doors while staying cool with the world’s hardest-working electric fan 😂
Honestly… there’s something super satisfying about slowing down, putting on some music, and working with your hands for a few hours. Between motorcycle rides, editing videos, and all the tech stuff, it’s nice to do something simple and real for a change.
These are two custom-made mahogany doors, and I’m doing the prep and finish work myself. Still learning as I go… but that’s kinda the whole point of this adventure, right? 😎👍
Have you guys ever done woodworking or DIY projects like this before? Any recommendations for finishing mahogany in the Philippines heat and humidity?
