Personally, I feel like I need to come out and say this. After seeing all the fan wars on Twitter, TikTok, and other social media platforms following Heeseung’s departure from the group, it honestly feels like we’re just repeating history.

NewJeans, LE SSERAFIM, ILLIT, ENHYPEN, KATSEYE, and many other groups are all under HYBE. Yet people are constantly saying things like “ENHYPEN is better than NewJeans” or “KATSEYE is better than this group.” Do you all not see the pattern here?

HYBE clearly doesn’t care enough about their idols to properly protect them if it risks their image. They will put members on hiatus or remove them from groups based on soulless speculation and rumors. At the end of the day, they seem willing to discard idols the moment it threatens their profits.

It’s like people arguing that Gucci is better than Louis Vuitton when they’re both owned by the same parent company. The competition between fans doesn’t really matter because the money still goes to the same place.

Saying Dani deserved to leave NewJeans or that Heeseung didn’t deserve to leave his group misses the bigger point. No one deserves to be pushed out like that. But fighting over which group is better OR whose situation is worse than the other doesn’t change anything. In the end, they’re still under the same company and still generating profit for that same company.


What I’m saying is: don’t stay silent about the unfair treatment and how lightly these idols’ careers are being handled by money-hungry companies like HYBE. Voicing your opinion and standing with the idols can actually make a positive impact.
But what doesn’t help the idols at all is putting the groups against each other. The real problem isn’t the groups or the members, it’s the company.

I’m not making this to start any fan wars or hate, I just want to share my thoughts. I stan ILLIT, NewJeans, and LE SSERAFIM, and I don’t put the members against each other because that’s wrong and unnecessary. But for those who think it’s reasonable to side with a multi-million-dollar company rather than five girls simply asking for freedom from mistreatment, no matter how you look at it, mistreatment is still mistreatment.

NewJeans may have been the only group to publicly speak up about their situation in HYBE, but just because other groups don’t come forward doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. Taking that kind of risk cost them their careers, and it takes real bravery to do what these young girls did, yet people still side with a money-hungry, employee-exploiting company.
