Before the Les Paul fully took over his sound, Page used a Danelectro 3021, a cheap and almost toy like guitar that most players ignored. In his hands, it became a secret weapon behind some of Led Zeppelin’s most unique sounds.

That gritty and slightly hollow tone you hear on tracks like Kashmir and In My Time of Dying comes from the Danelectro. It cuts through in a raw and hypnotic way, completely different from the heavier Gibson sound people usually associate with him.

It is proof that tone is not about price. It is about vision.
