In a survey result of 2020, around 97 million boys and 63 million girls are working as child labour. This estimate makes every one out of ten children work as child labour.

Sub-Saharan Africa has the highest number of child laborers where 49 million children are forced laborers.

We join the rest of the world to observe today June 12, which is World Day Against Child Labour.

Poor access to quality education will discriminate against children especially those from low-income families. This is why academic scholarship for children, particularly indigent children is an important way of promoting education for all and reducing inequality.

50% of in-school children in Nigeria are not learning because they cannot read or write; about 63% of children who live in rural areas cannot read at all; and around 84% of children in the lowest economic quartile cannot read at all.
