Welcome Home! The Artemis II Crew is Back!
πŸš€πŸŒ•
History has been made! After 10 incredible days in space and traveling over 600,000 miles, the Artemis II crew has safely returned to Earth! The Orion spacecraft successfully splashed down in the Pacific Ocean today, marking the completion of the first crewed mission to the Moon in over 50 years.
A huge round of applause for our four heroes who are all reported to be "happy and healthy":
β€’ Reid Wiseman (Commander)
β€’ Victor Glover (Pilot)
β€’ Christina Koch (Mission Specialist)
β€’ Jeremy Hansen (Mission Specialist)
During this mission, they broke the record for the farthest distance humans have ever traveled from Earth and gave us breathtaking new views of the Moon's far side. This successful mission opens the door for Artemis III, which aims to land humans back on the lunar surface!
