You, Me & Sicily

Today is Eszter's birthday!

Between shooting, editing, and making videos non-stop, planning tours, helping our guests, and keeping our home running smoothly, Eszter is the force behind all we do. Her energy is endless, her creativity never stops, and somehow she manages to keep a dozen moving parts heading in the same direction at once.

In many ways, she is a conductor—a maestra of sorts—bringing together people, places, ideas, schedules, cameras, tours, and dreams, then somehow turning them into something that works. If something exciting, beautiful, or memorable is happening around us, chances are Eszter has her fingerprints all over it.

Born in Hungary, she lived in Israel and Brazil before growing up in the United States. An Andover High graduate, a UMass undergraduate, and a Northeastern University advanced-degree dynamo, she went on to become an Emmy-nominated journalist before finding her way to Sicily, where together we have built a rich and fulfilling life.

Friends know her for her generosity, her sense of humor, her determination, and her remarkable ability to get things done. I know her as my partner in life, my sidekick, the loyal protector of these old bones of mine, and the hurricane behind so much of what we do. She is a cello player who somehow finds time for Pilates in her two minutes of free time, and to boot, she makes the best pizza and baccalà in Sicily.

Tonight we will celebrate with friends at our home in Aci Catena, sharing good food, good wine, laughter, stories, and gratitude for the remarkable woman who brings so much joy to all of us.
