We’re Ros, Tom, Lawrie and Wilfy. In 2018 we left the UK to look for a life with more freedom, travel and adventure. We drove 15,000 miles around Europe in our campervan, settled in Portugal for six years living off grid and enjoying mini adventures travelling through Europe in our motorhome.
We document our adventures honestly, sharing the real ups and downs of travelling as a family.

It turns out we have family ties to Sri Lanka!
My great great Grandfather was one of the main engineers and steam crane experts who helped build the Colombo harbour in the 1880s and lived in Ceylon (Sri Lanka)
His daughter, my Great Grandmother was born in Colombo and my grandfather and great (grand) aunties visited Sri Lanka many times to visit family friends. We even have family heirlooms that were gifts from the Sri Lankans who worked with my great great Grandfather. His name was William Finlayson. The name Finlayson was given to my grandfather as his middle name.
William Finlayson died in Colombo so we are going to visit this weekend coming to investigate his life and ties to Sri Lanka 😁🇱🇰
