The Tower of Babel video - www.youtube.com/shorts/s40hEg...
As it relates to this channel and our focus on Ancient Origins is a fascinating one...
1. Shinar was the location of early civilizations after the Flood.
2. This massive structure was built in Shinar, and some believe it looked like a ziggurat.
3. Shinar was part of Mesopotamia, the region between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in modern day Iraq.
The Bible records how people migrated into Shinar “from the east” (Genesis 11:2). Speculation exists whether this refers to migration patterns from the Indus Valley or other regions bringing new technology and innovation that led to early civilization in Mesopotamia.

THE HISTORICAL SETTING OF THE TOWER OF BABEL (as it refers to the term ziggurat)
As is evident from the above, I believe that the account of Genesis 11 has a solid historical foundation in early Mesopotamia. The details are authentic and realistic. The identification of the urbanization process and the accompanying development of the ziggurat with fundamental changes in the religious perspectives of the people demonstrates the keen analytical insight of the Biblical author. Is it possible to suggest a particular historical period as the background of the event recounted in this narrative? First, a review of the pertinent information:
1. Development of baked brick technology: Jamdet Nasr, ca. 3100 BC
2. Development of Ziggurat: Early Dynastic Period, ca. 2500 BC (earlier prototypes go back to the Late Uruk phase, ca. 3200 BC)
3. Development of Urbanization: Early Dynastic Period, ca. 2800 BC
4. Government by Ruling Assembly: Early Dynastic I, ca. 2900 BC

Egypt’s Sunken Temples: A Forgotten Chapter in History
Did you know some of the ancient Egyptian temples we see today were actually moved to their current locations?
Rare photographs from the early 1900s reveal a haunting sight—Egypt’s ancient temples, once towering symbols of power, partially submerged beneath the rising waters of the Nile. Before the construction of the Aswan High Dam, the seasonal floods of the river threatened some of the most breathtaking monuments of antiquity, leaving their colossal gateways and intricate carvings eerily reflected in the water.
The flooding was largely caused by the Aswan Low Dam, completed in 1902, which altered the natural water levels and left once-sacred sites abandoned beneath the tides. For millennia, these temples thrived under the rule of the pharaohs and later the Greco-Roman world—until they became ghostly relics, half-drowned and nearly lost to history.
By the 1960s, an even greater threat loomed as the Aswan High Dam promised permanent submersion. In response, UNESCO spearheaded one of the most ambitious rescue missions in history, relocating entire temples—stone by stone—to higher ground, ensuring their survival for generations to come.
These images capture a lost moment in time, when Egypt’s timeless wonders stood on the brink of oblivion. Would you have wanted to witness this forgotten era before the temples were moved? Let us know in the comments!

🦌 The Reindeer Riders of Mongolia: A Vanishing Way of Life 🌿
Deep in the remote taiga of Mongolia, the Dukha Tsaatan tribe lives in harmony with their reindeer, a tradition passed down for centuries. The Dukha are one of the last groups of nomadic reindeer herders in the world, and they depend on these majestic animals for transportation, warmth, and survival in the harsh wilderness.
But with modern pressures and dwindling reindeer populations, this ancient way of life is at risk of disappearing. 😞

WHO or WHAT Destroyed Mohenjo-Daro?
Theories Behind the Decline of the Indus Valley Civilization
Aryan Invasion: Some historians suggest that the Indo-European tribes, known as Aryans, invaded the Indus Valley civilization, leading to its downfall. They believe that the Aryans violently attacked and destroyed the cities, massacring the inhabitants of the Indus Valley. Evidence of such invasions has been linked to findings in Mohenjo-Daro and references in the Rig Veda.
Climate Change: Another widely accepted theory attributes the decline of the civilization to climate change. According to historians, the drying up of the Sarasvati River was a significant factor. As the river vanished, the water-dependent civilization gradually collapsed.
Flooding in the Indus Valley: Frequent and devastating floods have long plagued the Indus Valley region. Some historians propose that a massive flood might have destroyed the settlements, contributing to the civilization's disappearance. Even today, flooding remains a significant problem in this area.
Trade Disruption: Trade was vital for Mohenjo-Daro, especially with Mesopotamia, a key trading partner. Historians believe that political instability in Mesopotamia disrupted this trade, which relied on the exchange of goods. The cessation of trade likely led to economic decline and weakened the civilization.
Geographical Changes: Geographic shifts, such as changes in the earth’s crust, likely altered the course of the Indus River. Many cities in the Indus Valley were established near the river due to its importance as a water source. When the river changed its path, it became difficult to sustain these cities, contributing to the civilization’s collapse.
It is important to note:
1. Tests on a man's rib from the site, who lived over 4000 years ago showed normal levels. This specimen was also Egyptian and not Indian according to reports.
2. Radiation can be found all over the world, some level higher than others.

Still as in all ancient history, the true details are always as valid as what we can see and study. I am not an expert or scientist, but I love everything about the world's history, science and how past civilizations lived.

Up until 1966 Thonis-Heracleion was one of two of Egypts greatest cities that went missing. For 1,000 years Thonis-Heracleion was submerged beneath the Mediterranean.
With his unique survey-based approach utilising sophisticated technical equipment, Franck Goddio and his team from the IEASM were able to locate, map and excavate parts of the city of Thonis-Heracleion, which lies 6.5 kilometres off today’s coastline about 150 feet underwater. The city is located within an overall research area of 11 by 15 kilometres in the western part of Aboukir Bay.
The underwater archaeological research in Thonis-Heracleion is ongoing until today. Franck Goddio estimates that only 5 percent of the city have yet been discovered.
