Today was one of those days where I did less than I wanted to, but ended up doing more than I thought I would…. Let me explain.
It was a busy day where everything kept getting slightly pushed back. Me and the kids had plans to come play badminton and then while they checked out the library I was going to get my leg day in… well needless to say we basically just had enough time to get some badminton in before we had to leave and I had to attend fire practice. Now my thought was, I’ll go to the gym after fire practice. Now right at the very end of practice I had the thought of “well, I can workout tomorrow”. So I almost drove home instead, but at the very last minute I drove straight instead of turning right. I didn’t listen to that voice of procrastination and got my butt here. Now was it the best workout I’ve ever had, nope. But did I push myself to get something done when I almost felt like I wasn’t going to at all, absolutely.
I know that was a rant but bottom line, keep yourself accountable! Stick to your plan the best you can and sometimes you just gotta let muscle memory do its thing.

A couple more calls responded to today. Lucky nothing serious but felt good to get out on the truck. The biggest thing with this job is you never know when that radio is going to go off, but it’s about being ready to go at a moments notice. It may be just a false alarm… or it could be something major, we never know so that’s why we treat them all the same. #firesteve #firefighterlife #firstresponders #falsealarm #alwaysready
