Memorial Day hits a little different when you think about the people who shaped you.

My grandpa served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Lake Champlain, and growing up I could sit for hours listening to the stories he’d tell about his duties, life at sea, and the men he served beside. Back then, I don’t think I fully understood just how important those moments were. Now I realize those stories were pieces of history… pieces of him.

I miss those conversations more than words can explain.

Today isn’t just about remembering the fallen heroes who gave everything for our freedom — it’s also about honoring the generations that carried this country forward with courage, sacrifice, and pride.

So tonight around the lantern light and campfire glow, I’ll be thinking about Grandpa, the USS Lake Champlain, and all the veterans and families who gave so much for the freedoms we enjoy every day.

I gotta give credit where it’s due… they even added the little handles on the sides of these mini Coleman cooler citronella candles 😂

Some designer out there definitely knew the assignment. It’s the tiny details like that which make old camp gear people smile instantly.

Walmart actually did pretty good with these little things. Perfect camp table conversation piece while the lanterns are glowing and the coffee’s brewing.

The nostalgia hits hard with this one.

At the Spring Gathering, they showcase the legendary Coleman 275 stood proud in two forms… one custom survivor and one original “turd” straight from the wild.

This custom build got the full Wolf Pack treatment — seafoam vent, blacked-out tank, and a cleanup that completely changed the personality of the lantern. What was once overlooked now looks downright mean sitting on the table lit up at night.

Love it or hate it, the 275 has earned its place in lantern history. The lantern everybody jokes about somehow always becomes the one everyone gathers around to talk about. 🔥 Cheers

2 days post-op. Sitting down with my morning coffee and decided a warm glow is exactly what the doctor ordered. ☕
Today's light comes from a Coleman #152 table lamp, dated 1-1947. These lamps brought dependable light into homes during the late 1940s, and this one is still doing its job almost 80 years later.
Nothing like the soft glow of a classic to start the morning.

Just finished up this 220E Metallic — from rags to riches. 🔥🏮
Brought it back to life and added a blue line amber globe, which I think really completes it.
The metallic green fount version was only made for a short time around 1961, making them a neat variation collectors like to find.
Trying to knock out a few things on my to-do list before surgery. Feels good to get this one shining again.

Wolf Pack,

I owe you all an apology for being quiet lately. My health has slowed me down more than I expected. I’ve been dealing with a lot of back pain, and I have surgery scheduled for Monday March 9th. The hope is that it finally brings some relief and gets me back on my feet.

I truly appreciate every single one of you who reached out, checked in, and kept me in your prayers. That means more than you know.

And I also want to say THANK YOU — we just hit 700 subscribers. That absolutely blows me away. Even while I’ve been down, this community keeps growing. That’s because of you.

I’m currently working on a video and hope to have it out soon. I’m not going anywhere — just taking care of what I need to so I can come back stronger.
