Hi! I’m Kim, a yarn nut nestled in the woods of rural Alabama. 🌿
This channel is all about cozy crafting, stash-busting creativity, and the joy found in handmade. You’ll find yarn podcasts, scrappy projects, free pattern roundups, seasonal makes, and knitting and crochet inspiration, all shared with a cup of coffee nearby and gratitude in every stitch.
If you love chatting about yarn, knitting, crochet, and all kinds of crafty goodness, you’re in the right place. Pull up a chair so we can stitch and chat together. Here, creativity is about using what we have, being mindful of the blessings we’ve been given, and finding joy in the process, not just the finished piece.
Fueled by faith, coffee, love, and the smell of yarn
Hugs, love, and all the fluffy stuff,
Kim 💛

🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July!
I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday today.
This is what's currently on my needles. I'm using Must Stash Yarn Sport Sock in the Campfire colorway, and these colors seem especially fitting for July. The warm oranges, golds, and browns remind me of summer evenings, campfires, and time spent outdoors.
I always enjoy watching hand-dyed yarn work up because you never quite know how the colors will play together until you start knitting.
What are you working on today? Are you knitting, crocheting, spinning, weaving, or maybe just enjoying some well-deserved rest?

Hello friends!
I've been a little quiet lately, so I wanted to check in.
Our family just returned from our first vacation in three years. We spent some time in the Smoky Mountains, a place we've visited for many years with my in-laws. This was our first trip there without them, and while we were excited to go, we quickly realized it was more emotional than we expected. We ended up coming home a little earlier than planned.
To add a bit more excitement to the week, I managed to get my phone wet, and the screen gave up on me! Since the repair cost was almost half the price of a new phone, I decided to wait until September and upgrade then. Which means, in the meantime, I'm using my father-in-law's old iPhone SE, and y'all... I forgot phones could be this small. I even got the brightest yellow case for it because I keep loosing it around the house while I am cleaning out! 🤪
I don't know if my eyes have gotten older, the phone has gotten smaller, or both, but I'm squinting at everything. I also went from an iPhone 14 Pro Max with Face ID to a phone that wants me to push an actual button to unlock it. It feels like I've traveled back in time... I was not planning on taking this whole analog adventure this far. 😆
Between appointments, checkups, catching up around the house, and continuing the clean-out project, I wasn't able to get a video ready for this week. The good news is that I've still been knitting and crocheting, and I'm hoping to be back in front of the camera next week.
Thank you all for your patience and for being such a wonderful community. ❤️
What have you been making lately? I'd love to hear what's on your needles or hooks!

Can you spot my knitting mistake? 👀
Bonus imaginary points if you can tell me exactly what I did and where I went wrong!
Drop your guesses in the comments before I reveal the answer. No cheating by reading other comments first.

👉🏻 https://youtu.be/HlN-FvnPzsY A new video is up on the channel!
Pull up a chair, grab your project, and join me as we look back on this year's World Wide Knit & Crochet in Public Day.
We'll take a look at the hats that were mailed in, the hats that were brought to the event, and a few unexpected blessings that came along the way.
This year was different, but once again this community showed up in a big way. I am so grateful for your kindness, generosity, and friendship.
I hope you'll come spend a little time with me. ❤️

Year 12 of hosting this event feels a little different.
In years past, I would have had flyers printed, announcements in the local paper, and every detail carefully planned well in advance. This year, I didn’t. In fact, I forgot to put it in the paper and never even made flyers.
For a while, I felt guilty about that. But the truth is, our family has been living in survival mode since losing both of my in-laws last year. Grief has a way of changing priorities, slowing us down, and reminding us that sometimes simply showing up is enough.
So this year, I’m choosing grace over guilt.
Regardless of the prep, my heart and goal still remains behind it. For twelve years, this gathering has been about community, connection, and coming together, and that hasn’t changed.
If anything, this year is a reminder that not every season looks the same. Some seasons are marked by energy and abundance. Others are marked by perseverance, simplicity… and lots of grace.

No video again this week. I’ve spent the past two weeks volunteering as a leader for several kids' camps.
Last week was a VBX, which is our church's version of VBS. The week prior to that, I enjoyed a week in Panama City Beach, Florida, with about 80 something students 6-12th graders, for our church summer camp.
Tomorrow is the Worldwide Knit and Crochet in Public event, which I am afraid is going to be sooo HOT! I have door prizes pulled and several trash bags of yarn I will be giving away… so excited for that!
Channel news:
I have two boxes of hats that were sent for my donation drive. I’m gonna be sharing those in the next video and showing some footage of my event. After that, I want to have a sit-down and chat, and then a little something in July.
Photo:
This morning, I got up and picked a big bushel of blueberries from our blueberry bush. This colander is a 5-quart, which is insane because there is still more that I need to pick in a few days.
Hugs to you all, I have to go run a bunch of errands with family today. See you soon!Worldwide

How confident are you when it comes to choosing colors for your knitting or crochet projects? Do you naturally see color palettes when you look through your stash, or do you struggle to make colors feel cohesive together?
This week in the Stash Down Series, we’re talking all about intentional color, contrast, inspiration, and learning to see the yarn we already own a little differently.
