Say "bye" to traditional way of teaching and learn chemistry with visual tools.
Our channel provides the experimental kits available focus more on the observations or the effects which at times fail to address in class.
High school students consider chemistry as one of the dry subjects which requires lot of cramming and memorizing. A fun way approach works best not only to address the fundamentals but to make the subject more interesting.

Important Questions of D and f block | Class 12 Chemistry
(1) Why do d-block elements show variable oxidation states?
Answer:
Because both (n–1)d and ns electrons participate in bonding.
The energy difference between these orbitals is very small, so different numbers of electrons can be lost.
Example:
Fe → +2, +3
Mn → +2 to +7
(2) Why are transition metals colored?
Answer:
Due to d–d electronic transitions.
In transition metals, partially filled d-orbitals absorb specific wavelengths of light. The remaining reflected light gives color.
Example:
Cu²⁺ → Blue
Fe³⁺ → Yellow/Brown
(3) Why do transition metals form complex compounds?
Answer:
Because they have:
Small size
High charge
Vacant d-orbitals
These allow them to accept lone pairs from ligands and form coordination compounds.
Example:
[Cu(NH₃)₄]²⁺
(4) Why do transition metals show catalytic properties?
Answer:
Due to:
Variable oxidation states
Ability to form intermediate complexes
Large surface area (in finely divided state)
Example:
Fe in Haber Process
V₂O₅ in Contact Process
(5) Why do lanthanoids show contraction?
Answer:
Because of poor shielding effect of 4f electrons.
As atomic number increases, effective nuclear charge increases, causing gradual decrease in atomic size.
This is called Lanthanoid Contractio.
