Plucked from the Cosmos, farm to table.
T.A.F. Records is a fictional tribute project running from 2024-2025 geared towards learning about the capabilities of generative AI when combined with original song writing, sampling, digital music editing, photoshop, and illustration. The genres covered include psychedelic, garage rock, acid rock, and surfer rock music and genre fusions of the 60s-80s from around the world. All music is generated by AI based on human prompts, personally written lyrics, and heavy digital remixing and editing. All work is original. These bands are fictional.
Temple of the Acid Fist Records owns all music and artwork featured on the channel. These works may not be used, reuploaded, copied, or remixed without express permission from their owner and operator.
Temple of the Acid Fist Records
Hey guys. Long time no chat.
I've obviously slowed down quite a bit on content. I'm gonna level with you, I've been pretty burnt out and honestly trying to slow down and decide how I feel about the general direction that AI music is rapidly taking, subjectively and on a macro scale.
I feel like I've been letting my enjoyment become obscured by concern over metrics (how to keep up with other channels, how to keep engagement and subscription rates up, letting engagement drive my creative choices, yada yada yada.) Started to become a real chore. Speaking entirely for myself and my own work, I want to ensure I'm not just phoning these albums in, as is entirely apt to happen with ANY kind of generative AI. It can def turn into just an "easy button," but the potential for some really unique and creative expression is totally there, if one takes the time to learn and apply it.
This is meant to be fun, to provide an outlet for my writing and music, and to give me an opportunity to learn and sharpen my mixed media skills. On top of that, my overarching goal has always been to figure out how to maximize my expression in the creative process/articulate max control over what AI (+supporting tools) construct to create the most badass music I possibly can. I absolutely do not want to compromise that in favor of getting boosted in the YT algorithm.
SO... moving forward, quality over quantity is the exclusive policy. I'm going to dedicate time into just 1 or 2 albums a month tops, so that I can REALLY focus my energy into making some interesting and unique sounds and ideas. If you like what you hear, consider clicking 'LIKE,' let me know in the comments, maybe even share it with a friend if you think its share-worthy ;) hope you enjoy what I've got cooking!
On that note-- look out tomorrow for a new album/new sound that I've been playin with, that hopefully exemplifies what I just talked about. As always, share good tunes and thanks for listening friends

Temple of the Acid Fist Records
Hello TAF Records Fans!
As we promised, we want to share some of the biggest musical influences behind these fictional bands. While AI music is pushing new boundaries, we believe it’s more important than ever to honor the trailblazers and TRUE talents who have shaped the sounds we love. If you enjoy our work, even just a little bit, we encourage you to dive into the works of the REAL artists who inspire us—and support them! If you have your own artist suggestions, please share them in the comments!
Nomad:
Nomad is inspired by many of the talented Sub-Saharan African artists of the 60s, 70s, and modern times, spanning the countries of Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Ghana, Chad, Ethiopia, as well as some American bands. The choice to blend these styles with 1960s garage rock was more inspired by "What-if" and personal taste/curiosity. Some musician inspirations include:
-Vieux Farka Touré youtube.com/c/VieuxFarkaTour%C3%A9official
-Tinariwen youtube.com/@Tinariwen
-Mdou Moctar youtube.com/@MdouMoctarmusic
-Fela Kuti youtube.com/@felakuti
-Mulatu Astatke www.youtube.com/channel/UCzEI...
-Ebo Taylor www.youtube.com/channel/UCvcA...
-Antibalas youtube.com/@AntibalasVideos
-Khruangbin youtube.com/@Khruangbin
The Shu Brothers:
The Shu Brothers are a reference to Shaw Brothers (HK) Limited, the movie production company of three brothers based in Hong Kong. The company is famous for producing a number of famous Kung Fu movies through the 1960s and 70s. Each title is a reference to various famous kung fu movies from that era, not all of them Shaw Brothers. We highly recommend checking them out if you enjoy that genre. We happen to be kung fu movie addicts, as our name implies! Some movies include:
-Jackie Chan Movies: Dragon Lord, The Young Master, Drunken Master, Killer Meteor, Snake in Eagle's Shadow
-Gordan Liu Movies: The 36th Chamber, Dirty Ho, Shaolin and Wu Tang
-Other Films: A Touch of Zen, The World of Drunken Master, Death Duel of the Mantis
Besides direct movie references, the music is inspired by the intersection between Eastern culture, 60s-70s American and Afro-funk, American Rock, and psychedelia. Some musician inspirations include:
-Tamio Okuda youtube.com/@RCMROfficialYouTubeChannel_jp
-Chumei Watanabe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1U26...
-The Budos Band https://youtu.be/WV9axjWCAUY?si=P7SaD...
-Shaolin Afronauts www.youtube.com/channel/UCVw8...
-YĪN YĪN youtube.com/c/Y%C4%AANY%C4%AANband
-Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra

Oghuz Khagan:
Oghuz Khagan was inspired by an entire movement of 1960s-1970s psychedelic music in Turkey. There are so many interesting bands to explore in this subgenre, I'm excited just typing about it. We were first introduced through our exploration of Altin Gün. The influences incorporate a lot of traditional Turkish folk, Western funk, garage and acid rock, and a variety of traditional instruments. I really want to be able to do this genre justice, so it may be a bit of time before TAF attempts another album. Some of the musician influences include:
-Cem Karaca https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=408tZ...
-Erkin Koray https://youtu.be/U0gjwpMb-k8?si=pdbSv...
-3 Hürel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QL1J...
-Barış Manço youtube.com/@barismancotv/videos
-Altın Gün youtube.com/@AltnGunband
Dominique Quispe y Los Chamanes:
Dominique Quispe was inspired by the psychedelic cumbias movement in 1960s & 70s Peru, known as Chicha or Chichadelica. There are TONS of different references to point towards in this sub genre and the sound varies so widely, its another one we struggled to pin down. One source I can highly recommend if you are interested in dipping your toes into this fun category of music is the "Roots of Chichas" vinyl series from Barbès Records, linked below. They really blow our attempt out of the water, so we're certain you'll love it.
