Hi, I'm Ryan, based in the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park in Wales.
I've loved the outdoors from a young age and started camping at thirteen. Since starting this channel in early 2024, I've kept things simple — creating content around what I enjoy most: hiking, wild camping, and bushcraft-style camping.
I work 12-hour shifts, so whenever I get time off, heading into the mountains for a night is my way to switch off and reset.
My dog Toby joined me on most of my adventures and became known as ‘The Star of the Show’. After suffering a severe spinal injury in early 2025, he’s made an incredible recovery and now makes the occasional guest appearance.
If you enjoy the content, feel free to subscribe.

Wild About Wales
Hiking and wild camping will always be my main content, but sometimes it's nice to do something a little different now and again
Which of these 3 videos was your favourite?
I really enjoyed all three, but the 'cave camp' was No1 for me.
Here's a link for those that haven't seen it

New video out today at 17:00 ⛪🐾
A bit different from my usual wild camping and hiking trips — me and Toby spent the night inside a 15th-century medieval church… and the bells rang all night.
Hope you enjoy this one when it goes live later — Would you stay somewhere like this?

Wild About Wales
Toby and I recently spent the night inside a beautiful 15th-century English church 🕯️
It’s a bit different from my usual wild camps, but it turned out to be a really peaceful place to stay. Once the evening set in and the churchyard went quiet, the whole place had a very special atmosphere about it.
Not your typical overnight stop… but definitely one we both enjoyed.

A full traverse of Nantlle Ridge, finished off with a wild camp on the summit of Y Garn ⛰️
I've really enjoyed editing the video for this; it's been fun to put together. This is Episode 2 of my trip to North Wales. It's currently uploading and will be published on Sunday @17:00 hours. Hope you enjoy!

Wild About Wales
Some photos from my visit to North Wales to hike Nantlle Ridge. With it being an end-to-end hike, I had to park my car at Rhyd Ddu and walk 13 miles to my starting point near the village of Nebo. I mostly used the Snowdonia Slate Trail to get there, and wandered through old abandoned quarries and rarely used paths. I finished the day off with a camp on the summit of Mynydd Graig Goch; it has a shattered rock summit similar to the Glyderau, and the views were spectacular. The ground was a perfect pitch too—so comfy that I slept solidly all night; just what I needed to set me up ready for a day on the ridge.
I've split this trip into two episodes, and am currently putting the finishing touches to 'Episode 1' which I'm hoping to publish by tomorrow evening; fingers crossed 🤞🏻
Have a great weekend! Ryan.
