MedicalTourism RN

I educate Black Women on all aspects of Medical Tourism to arm them with correct information if they decide to seek healthcare abroad (whether it is for plastic surgery, dental procedures, cancer treatment, fertility, or any other healthcare). I want to make sure you have as much information you need to make more informed decisions about your health, so you are educated about your procedure, the country you decide to have it done in, the clinicians that will provide your care, and everything involved in ensuring you have the best outcomes from a health standpoint and satisfaction perspective. If you are interested in learning more about the cost, pre- and post-surgical care and treatment, medications, therapy, follow-up, and more, hit the subscribe button and the notification bell so you know when I drop a video. I'm Dr. Natasha Ramontal, a doctoral trained RN & Board Certified Patient Advocate who has worked in the Emergency Department and PACU for years (in the U.S).

Patient Safety Awareness Week Starts Today

Today is the first day of Patient Safety Awareness Week, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of safe healthcare for everyone.

Many people don’t realize that medical harm is still a major public health issue worldwide.

According to the World Health Organization, about 134 million adverse events occur each year in hospitals in low- and middle-income countries, leading to approximately 2.6 million deaths.

In the United States, some studies estimate that 250,000 to 400,000 deaths each year may be related to preventable medical harm.

The reality is that every person will interact with the healthcare system at some point in life, and patient safety affects all of us.

Patient Safety Awareness Week is an opportunity to highlight the work being done to improve healthcare safety and to empower patients, caregivers, and communities to take an active role in protecting their health.

As a Registered Nurse and Board-Certified Patient Advocate, I believe that informed patients are safer patients.

Throughout this week I will be sharing practical tips on how to protect yourself and your loved ones in healthcare settings.

Stay tuned for daily insights on:

✔ recognizing red flags in healthcare
✔ how to advocate for yourself during medical visits
✔ medication safety tips
✔ hospital safety checklists
✔ how to safely navigate medical tourism

Your voice matters in healthcare. Your questions matter. Your safety matters.

Let’s continue the conversation this week.
Patient safety is a shared responsibility. What has been your biggest healthcare challenge? Let’s talk about it below.
