Yo! I'm Ben. I'm a 33 year old software developer by day, and aspiring indie game developer by night (and early morning).

I created this channel to document my attempt at becoming a successful indie game developer while managing the responsibilities of a full-time job and maintaining a fun and healthy lifestyle. I hope to post both technical content about the game development work I'm doing as well as lifestyle-focused content to show how I try to balance everything I do.

I hope that my content here might serve to inspire any others who share my passion for creating and sharing games! Hope you enjoy.

Hey folks! Hope you’ve all had a great start to the year. Sorry I’ve been MIA for a while, but that’s for good reason! I’m happy to share that we’ve recently welcomed a new dev-duckling to the family!

I’m super excited to see what this chapter brings for me and my family. You can expect my YouTube hiatus to last just a bit longer, but after we figure out our new routine, I’ll be excited to march on with the devlog series both for Dauphin and other small games like Range in the future!

As always, I can’t express enough gratitude for the community that’s followed my journey balancing game development and life over the years. That journey continues to evolve, and I’m lucky to have y’all with me.

Hey folks! I know it's been a quiet month for me, but good news - Range is nearly complete! I have to wrap up some more content for customizable vehicles and environments, but after that it's on to creating my first steam page. Of course, I've been producing a big old devlog to detail the entire journey. Can't wait to share with y'all!

Next video is going to be a fun one! I often spend a few weeks over the holidays working on something new, and this year my goal is to bring last year's holiday project, Range, to Steam! Range started as a simple proof-of-concept for a gamified productivity timer, and I'm really excited to see it through. Keep your eyes peeled for updates!

It's been years since I took another pass at Dauphin's title screen. I've a long way to go on my journey learning pixel art but I'm very happy with this update!

Even though it's been a while since my last real "devlog", I'm happy to report I've made a ton of progress off-camera and am jumping into some exciting new feature work here soon. Excited to share those updates soon - thank you all as always for all the kind support of the channel!

Hey everyone, quick update!

If you've been wondering where I've been for the past few weeks - well, I got married, and have been on my honeymoon! Since I got back I've been working hard on a new devlog and I'm hoping to have it ready by tomorrow. Keep your eyes peeled!

Today I worked on the first rough-draft concept art for a very important gameplay system in Dauphin - diving! I'm excited by how it turned out so I couldn't help but share. Let me know what you think! I have a lot of work to do improving my artwork here.

Hey folks! Hope you're all well.

Some of you may have noticed I've started to stream development of Dauphin over at www.twitch.tv/devduckyt. It's been a blast! I'm not sure if I'll be doing this at all yet, but the thought crossed my mind that I could trim up some of my streams and post them as "stream highlights" here on the YT channel. So my question is - should I do that? Let me know!

PS - video later today!
