Welcome to Wallsraiil
Yeah, I couldn't decide what to call it so just put Rail after my Name!!
What's it all about, good question.
Primarily building Model Railway Kits, modifying or detail enhancement of out of the box models and occasionally Scratch builds of something or other.
Because I don't want two channels, I will also upload some of my REAL railway footage too.
Mostly current day things that I see, well, work on.
At some stage in the future I'll sort through my VHS archives and transfer that as well. Probably in the winter months when its too cold to venture out to the garage!
Similarly, 3rd channel isn't happening either, so on the rare occasions I film a running related thing, that will also appear here.
Oh, and I say it quite a lot in my videos, I'm no expert, and this is not a how to (or in some channels cases, you've got to do it this way!) or tutorial channel. More like a blog of my experiences of the things I've learned or seen other people do.

I’ve been quiet on here recently, but I’ve been busy working and making many trips to the hospital visiting my poorly father.
Unfortunately for him, he passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon (16/03/2026).
A few of you will know who he was and his prominence in the model railway world, however most won’t so here’s a brief summary.
Interested in railways from childhood and started working on the railway after leaving school at age 14. Was employed as a fitter Stratford works climbing the ranks to become Shed Manager at Hertford East until steam was replaced with electric in the early sixties. Model Railways then became the focus first in 00 scale then O gauge where he became a big star ⭐
Throughout the late 70’s up until recently was on the exhibition circuit. Winning numerous awards and prizes.
Back in the day one of the most prestigious accolades was to be invited to the Central Hall exhibition in London on several occasions.
Something aspired to by many top modellers of the time.
I’ve got a video exploring this on YouTube soon.
I’ll back to normal soon
But for now
RIP

In the latest round of rebuilding my layout, the loco shed is in the frame!
I can’t decide on the approach Track design though?
Help me choose an option 1; single lead with extra siding or 2; separate Arrival/Departure lines with longer siding space!
Video on same issue out as well.
I’ll tally the votes on Friday so I can lay the track work done over the weekend
Thank you 😊

Steam engine build, but which one? 🤔
In the General scheme of things, not something I’d normally take on, expanding my horizons and all that! 😅
Could it be a streamlined duck, a big lad from 🇺🇸 a continental monster?
Maybe something from the 1800’s or an industrial or one mentioned in the fabulous books by Rev. Awdry?
It’s definitely a kit!
Possibly a Royal, Duke Claud princess or king?
A clue is in this post 😯 what do you think it could be, or what would you like to see in a future video?
Hopefully have the video uploaded by the weekend 😃
And happy new year 🥳
