Today is National Interpreter Appreciation Day, and it’s the perfect time to celebrate why I started Interpreting Simplified.In the medical field, being an interpreter is about more than just swapping words between languages.
It’s about:
Ensuring a diagnosis is truly understood.
Making sure a patient feels safe and seen.
Bridging the gap so that care is never compromised by a language barrier.
To all my colleagues out there working in hospitals, clinics, or via VRI/OPI—thank you for being the voice of clarity.

It started with a simple message…
“I stumbled upon your videos… you’ve opened a window for my students to explore this career.”
From social media… to a high school classroom.
Interpreting Simplified was invited to speak to students about medical interpreting and what started as curiosity turned into something bigger.
After the session, students left thinking…
asking questions…
and seeing possibilities they didn’t even know existed before.
I felt truly honored to be a guest speaker and contribute to something so meaningful... helping students discover a path where their language skills can become purpose.
Thank you, Mrs. Maria Marin, for your heart and dedication. It’s inspiring to see educators who genuinely care about creating a brighter future for the next generation.
It was a privilege to be part of this incredible new course within the Spanish Department of Interpretation and Translation at POLAHS, part of the Career and Technical Education pathway.
This is how impact is created!!!
