Welcome to Meghan the Piano Teacher, a channel dedicated to thoughtful, effective piano study for adult piano learners, intermediate and advancing pianists, and musicians seeking a more structured, informed approach to practice!
With over 15 years of teaching experience and two master's degrees in piano pedagogy and music education, I have both the practical experience and academic knowledge to provide you with the best learning experience possible! On this channel, I share practical guidance on piano practice, repertoire selection, technique, musicianship, and musical thinking. My goal is to help pianists practice more intelligently, choose music that supports real progress, and develop a deeper understanding of how music works โ not just how to play the notes.

Sadly, there is no new video today, but for good reason! Yesterday I accompanied my husbandโs voice recital (his final step in competing his doctorate in choral conducting with an emphasis in vocal pedagogy!!!!), so my usual time for prepping videos this week was mostly consumed by rehearsing ๐ It was so much fun to prepare a program together and accompany for my favorite singer โค๏ธ Iโll be back with a brand new video next Saturday!!
Video link if youโre interested โบ๏ธ: youtube.com/live/hSvJJGvKa2M?si=A9Nm0rTGZdhj8CZS
P.S. Before you ask, yesโฆ he is quite tall and I am quite short ๐๐

Our beloved piano ALMOST didn't exist - if it weren't for a few key players and developments, who knows where the instrument would be today! Check it out at the link below:

While I'm not a composer by any means, something I enjoy a little bit of is ***very simple*** arranging! We're blessed to occasionally have string players join us at my church, and I've taken to arranging some piano solo pieces for piano and violin/cello! Please enjoy my very basic arrangement of Mendelssohn's Venetian Boat Song No. 1, Op. 19 No. 6 for piano and cello!
And I would love your suggestions of other pieces you think might be well-suited to this sort of arrangement!
