One of the most exciting mini restorations so far. This is USA army button which belongs to a soldier in 1917 - 1918 year. It has very thick patina and bended button eye, but overall in good condition. So I remembered my purpose for a moment, because it all started with restorations. I put all my skill and diligence to make this button shine like new.
I think I succeeded. It was an honor to restore this little piece of history
This knife is absolutely hand forged, actually this is motorcycle chain that is flattened by huge sledgehammer. To forge the stripe for this knife, I had to swing the hammer for three days, and it's very difficult to do such without power hammer.
Enjoy watching, your Like and Share is very important
Note: Knife is made exclusively outside at -22 degree The camera battery was draining so quickly at frost that it ran out several times a day
A simple apple could drive nails into a board in such frost This knife base has 0.4% carbon which is pretty low, but its blade has more than 1%
Who would have thought that this rusted Pickaxe would one day become a shining sword? The steel of this mighty mining tool is so hard that I needed a giant 25-pound hammer, the blows of which made the ground tremble.
How you doing people? This is Scimitar, or to be correct curved Arab sword.
I used rusty U8A steel strip, letter "A" means that it's high quality (ultra pure) 0,8% carbon steel. Usually such steel is used for very sharp tools and is pretty rare to find, by the way this is the best steel I've ever worked with.
So grab something sweet or salty and enjoy watching the video :)
As you may have guessed, this is also an M24 hex nut for that big bolt i made before. So we have a complete set: Brass M24 Hex Nut & Bolt and Huge Bronze Wrench.
By the way, that steel wrench which I used for the bronze casting was made in Bulgaria and is quite rare.
What we see here is Malachite ore or Copper carbonate. it is a Natural resource and a source of copper, the largest deposits located in Congo. This malachite pieces can be converted into metallic copper through a reduction process, which will be shown in video. This is an ancient process that our ancestors used to extract metallic copper, they used bellows for air supply and critical heating and bone meal for smelting.
If you like such project about malachite ore pls share this video and comment, and I'll do more...
