An adventurous Family in the Back country! We have 2 kids and 3 huskies and share our adventures with you. We backpack and Bikepack and ski and climb and try to do it all together as much as we can. packing for kids and dogs and makinf it all happen is sometimes crazy but always worth it. When doing long Back Country trips with kids and dogs you need to go as light as you can. Our channel can help you with gear ideas and trip ideas to lower your base weight and help you be successful and safe and to have fun as a family. Chris and I have many decades of combined experience Skiing, climbing, and mountaineering in the back country. We had our kids late and had to slow down to have a be with the kids. Videos up soon! Just finished a big trip.DON’T LOOK AT THE PHOTO IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE GROSSED OUT! So I’ve done this a couple times and got away with it before but this time I did not. Even if you trail run in a pair of shoes with a small pack on, whatever you do, do not go on a long backpacking trip with a pair of shoes you did not hike in for at least 8 hours with a heavy pack on. The heavy pack weight makes a huge difference in how your feet move in your shoes. I used the Altra lone peak all weather high tops all last summer backpacking with no blisters and my Altra timps. I used the Altra lone peaks regular runners this time and got HUGE, and I mean MASSIVE blisters on the inside of my feet because the regular lone peaks are slightly wider because they don’t have the waterproof liner.

The snow has begun here in the Canadian Rockies! We have a few trips from the summer we are editing so expect those to come out weekly and then after that we will be doing ski trips and fat biking, so stay tuned for the winter content!

We have had a combo of technical issues and me just being too picky with the last 2 videos. I had to take them down and redo them a couple times. We are hopefully releasing final edited videos tonight of Part 1 and 2 of our trip to the Yoho National Park. We are also very busy backpacking!! so stay tuned for lots more trip videos coming up!
