What does a marketing mentor do and do I need one?

Running a business is lonely. There are 10,000 decision to make in a day… often by yourself. How do you know which one to make without feeling totally overwhelmed? And how do you decide on things that you’re not trained in (like sales and marketing)?

That’s where a business growth consultant (like yours truly) comes in. :)

Say goodbye to making every decision by yourself. I promise, it’s such a relief. AND… you’ll save a TON of time and money by getting been there done that advice from a pro before you make decisions.

Do you look like someone that people want to give money to?

Be honest. Are you showing up to meetings with potential clients / industry friends the same way you’d show up to a job interview? Does your website look professional, cared for, well designed? Are your posts branded with your colors?

These are all little things. But they make a difference in a highly competitive market. A restaurant can have the best food in town but if it’s not clean, comfortable, and well laid out, then customers will go elsewhere.

Remember that we’re not doing our clients a favor by working with them. We’re asking them for two of their most precious resources: their time and their money. So looking the part, in every area where they interact with us, is key to standing out.

This can be hard to see from inside the business. As I always say “you can’t see the label from inside the bottle lol. I’d love to help you with a customer experience audit where we can identify the strengths and weaknesses of your branding. 💗💗💗

Anyone here made a mistake in your business? 🙋‍♀️

Did you then beat yourself up about it? Spend hours (maybe days 😭) spinning into imposter syndrome? Did you want to just burn it to the ground and pretend this whole entrepreneur thing never happened? 🤯

Yep I get it. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. 🤓

Here’s the thing I’ve learned in my nearly 30 years in business… mistakes happen. All the time. And they NEED to happen for you to learn.

Think about a baby learning to walk. They fall down constantly. What do they do? Laugh and get back up and try again but in a different way that incorporates the lessons they learned by falling. No drama, no “forget it I’m just gonna crawl forever”, no “I’m not good enough to be a walker”. They just get up and try again.

You were once that baby learning to walk. So how can you take that same attitude and bring it into your business today?

Bottom line: Give yourself grace to fail. Every successful entrepreneur does it. It’s ok. You got this. I promise. I love you. 💗💗💗

But, wanna fail less cause you have a clear roadmap to how to grow your biz? Then you know where to find me. 💗💗💗

Anyone feel like this in their biz? (And not just cause it’s been raining for 40 days and 40 nights in Texas #IYKYK)

Entrepreneurship can be lonely, isolating, and overwhelming. There are thousands of decisions to make about things you never even knew you needed to know about.

I get it. I’ve started multiple 6-figure businesses as a solopreneur; and run marketing for international conglomerates and small start-ups. I’ve been there, done that. I know how hard it is. And I’ve made all the mistakes (oh, so many mistakes lol).

You don’t need to go it alone. Hiring a mentor, even for just a few months, will give you the clarity and direction you need to build your dream biz faster than you would trying to do it all alone.

Yes it costs money. But you’ll make more money faster than you would without one. The investment gets returned in no time.

Are you ready for a seasoned business growth guide to walk along side you? Then let’s chat!

Marketing your business should be like sex… both parties need to be excited. Xoxo

You need to be excited to help others as only you can and the customer must be excited to buy. Without excitement, no one is going to give you their money or their time.

How do you make people excited to buy? Show them you understand their problem and clearly tell them how you will solve it.

Seems simple but so many entrepreneurs talk about the features of their offer and forget the WHY… the emotional why… they forget to communicate the deep exhale their clients will feel when they finally hire you cause they know with certainty that things will be better.

We all know how that deep exhale of relief feels (and not just cause we all are binge watching Bridgerton 🤯🥵). So how can you communicate that feeling in your marketing?

Need help figuring this out? Finding magnetic messages is my superpower 💪🏼 so let’s chat.

Thanks to Elizabeth Bachman for this quote!

Anyone feel overwhelmed by the million little things that you have to do to run a business? 🙋‍♀️

I get it. And marketing usually falls to the bottom of the list, reserved for that magical “when I have time” time (which is a fairytale thing with no basis in reality 🤪).

Here’s the hard truth: focusing on all those little things, and ignoring the big things, the things that will actually make you money, will ruin your biz. They are the ants that will ruin your picnic. People don’t fail cause they did too much marketing. They fail cause they let the little annoying things take their time away from making money and proving value to clients.

My superpower is helping entrepreneurs filter out the clutter to create a clear actionable plan to grow their businesses. We focus on the elephants that will carry you to your goals and not the ants that will eat your lunch one small annoying bite at a time.

Ready for some clarity? Give me a hollar!

THRILLED to announce that I will be a main stage speaker at the Polkadot Powerhouse annual conference called Celebration! I've been a member of this incredible networking group for a few years and it is dear to my heart.

Here's a recap of my talk, entitled "The Path To True Connection Is Through Finding Your Unique Voice":

"We all long to fit in yet we also fear social interaction. Our brains are wired to tell us to do whatever possible to stay in the herd no matter how much it hurts us. So we put masks. Yet, it is these masks that keep us from truly sharing our gifts, our vulnerabilities, and ultimately creating true connection with others. In this talk we'll explore how the masks we think we need to wear aren't actually serving us, what we can do to take them off, and how we can find our authentic voice and find true connection with others. The principles discussed can apply to anyone looking for true connection whether it's with their fellows or with an audience they hope to sell to."

Not a member of Polkadot Powerhouse? You're welcome to join me for a meeting here in Dallas (or I'll set you up with your local chapter).

Want me to do a talk like this for your group? I'd love to! XOXO
