Hey there RunJunkies! I am back in snowy Denver, getting some rest, I'm unpacked, did laundry, and I'm already prepping for Princess (41 days to Princess expo, but who's counting). I have A. LOT. of stuff coming your way, so buckle in!
Today, I hope to get the Expo and Haul video up, and the rest of January should be as follows*:
January 15, 5k recap
January 19, 10k recap
January 22, Weekend training Updates return
January 26, Half recap
February 2, Full recap
It's all coming -- lots of video, photopass, and other stuff to go through, and I can't wait to share it with you. My computer is already not happy with me.
*Give or take a few...days...weeks?

Hey all! Due to the Digital Event Guide dropping so late, the time crunch of the holidays, the remaining volume of training, and prepping for a Christmas vacation and Dopey, I’ll be altering my posting schedule. I will not be doing a Digital Event Guide and Course Map Breakdown like I have in the past, but here’s what you can expect:
Training Tuesday Video 12/20 – Marathon Recovery
WDW Marathon Weekend Preview Podcast – 12/23
Final 2022 Weekend Update – 12/24
After that, I’ll be taking a break until after Marathon weekend. Jen and I will record our WDW Marathon Weekend Preview on Monday, 12/19 first thing in the morning. I’ll have the audio up for the podcast on Friday, but in addition, I’ll be adding a video version of the podcast here on the channel!
So here is my question…what have you seen in the guide or on the courses that is a surprise to you, or that might be new this year? RunDisney Veterans, what advice do you have for those who might be running their first Event in January?
For reference, please check the Digital event Guide at the link below!

WE MADE IT!
Four Days, 7.5 hours of running, totalling 31.4 Miles! I want to thank everyone who participated in my Mock-a-Thon Pledge Drive. Your pledge per mile will provide an amazing experience for children at Sophie and Madigan’s Playground.
If you have already made a pledge, your donation can be made at the link below. BUT THERE IS STILL TIME TO PLEDGE AND DONATE! All pledge donations received by 5:00 pm MDT on October 31st will be entered to win a Dopey Inspired 6-Pocket Medal Holder! Drawing will be held at 9:00 am on November 1st.
Thank you so much for supporting me during this training week, and for supporting Sophie and Madigan’s Playground.

MOCK-A-THON UPDATE!
After two runs, totaling 90 minutes, I have logged over 6 miles. At the moment, the pledges would total almost $55!!
With two days and SIX HOURS of running left, imagine the possibilities!
To those of you who have already pledged, THANK YOU, but if you haven’t, you can still support Sophie and Madigan’s Playground and my Princess Fairy Tale Challenge efforts.
If you would like to pledge, please drop a comment, or DM me with the amount you wish to pledge per mile. For example, if you pledge $1 per mile, and I run 28 miles, your donation would be $28. With “only” two days down and two to go, every little bit helps motivate me, but more importantly helps children of all abilities find play.

Thank you for helping me reach my Dopey Challenge Fundraising Goal! Now I just need to reach the training goals…So I’m holding a MOCK-A-THON!
What the heck is this, you ask? Well, as many Dopey Challenge runners know, Simulation or MOCK weekends are part of the training, during which we run multiple days in a row as a Dress Rehearsal for January’s event. During my Mock weekend from Wednesday, October 26th through Saturday, October 29, I will be running four consecutive days with increasingly longer volume runs, rain or shine (if outdoor conditions are dangerous, I will run the time on the treadmill). Day One is 30 minutes, Day Two is 60 Minutes, Day Three is 2 Hours, and Day Four is 4 Hours. During these set times, I will run as many miles as I can up to 37.5 Miles*, but realistically, I would predict somewhere around 30 miles.
I am asking for pledges to donate per mile. This will be a huge motivator for me to complete this challenging training weekend, and any support you can provide will definitely keep me going. PLEASE NOTE: this pledge drive will benefit Sophie and Madigan’s Playground and my 2023 Princess Fairy Tale Challenge Fundraiser, even though the training is technically for the Dopey Challenge.
If you would like to pledge, please drop a comment with the amount you wish to donate per mile (including any maximum cap), or reach out to me personally via email at coachhj@runnerswithoutlimits.com.
For example, if you pledge $1 per mile, and I run 28 miles, your donation would be $28. What happens with fractions of a mile? Well, that is up to you! Round up, round down, add some change, either way, every little bit helps!
During the weekend, I’ll be posting in my Stories my daily mileage during the challenge and my total miles each day (with photographic evidence). After the last run, I’ll post the total miles I ran for the Mock-a-Thon. All pledged donations received by 5:00 pm October 31st will be entered into a drawing for a Dopey Inspired 6-Pocket Medal Holder! The drawing will be held on Tuesday, November 1st.
Thank you in advance for your support, and I am deeply grateful for your generosity. sophieandmadigansplayground.org/dphmw2022/CoachHea…
*Each run has a time OR mileage goal. Whichever I reach first (likely time, though), the run is done. The four runs have the following time/mileage caps:
30 minutes OR 2.5 miles
60 minutes OR 5 miles
2 hours OR 10 Miles
4 hours OR 20 Miles
