ON TIME VS. IN TIME 🤔

🔵On time means something happens exactly at the expected or scheduled time.

Examples👇
She arrived on time for the meeting (she arrived at the scheduled time).

The bus arrived on time.

He always finishes his work on time.

Tip to Remember📍
Use “on time” when something happens at the expected time.
Think: On time means not late.

🟢In time means something happens before it’s too late, but not necessarily exactly on time.

Examples👇
She arrived just in time to catch the train (she arrived before the train left).

We arrived in time to see the sunset.

He finished his homework just in time for class.

Tip to Remember📍
Use “in time” when something happens just before it’s too late.
Think: In time means before it’s too late.

She is my blood sister. ❌️

Some people often say “She is my blood sister” to mean “She is my biological sister.”
But in Standard English, the phrase “blood sister” is unusual and can even be misleading, it sometimes refers to two unrelated people who have performed a blood covenant or symbolic ritual of sisterhood.

Correct expressions:

1. She is my sister. ✅

2. She is my biological sister. ✅

3. She is my real sister. ✅

4. She’s my own sister. ✅

Note:
When you say “She’s my sister,” it already means you’re related by blood or adoption, no need to add “blood.”
If you’re talking about someone who feels close like family but isn’t related, you can say:

She’s like a sister to me. ✅
