Farm Life Uncovered

Our channel is dedicated to guiding aspiring farmers who are passionate about growing and consuming healthy food but may have little to no prior farming experience. Our mission is to not only provide valuable insights into farming but also to inspire youth worldwide, showcasing that farming can be a path to financial security that extends across generations.

We take you through the initial steps of transforming the barren land into a canvas of possibilities. A vision of an orchard with Pixie oranges. Fortunately, the skies blessed us with rain during the planting period, helping our fruit trees and other crops take root. Noticing the barren spaces in between, we decided to grow short-term crops like tomatoes, capsicums, and lettuce.

Additionally, we faced labor challenges as one worker decided to leave, highlighting the demanding nature of farm work. Despite these obstacles, our short-term crops thrived, fruit trees grew steadily, and our farm continued to flourish.

Farm Life Uncovered

Today, we assess the quality of our capsicums and dive into various aspects of farm life. As the tomato season comes to an end, we're faced with challenges like bird damage and the impact of the Tuta Absoluta pest, leading to significant waste. Today we start by showing you the extent of this waste and discuss our composting efforts.

Our mission is not just about farming; it's about teaching the next generation and our community that agriculture is possible even in harsh conditions. We're thrilled to see our neighbors and family members embracing the idea and growing their own food from green sukuma wiki, spinach, and a few fruits such as Mango and Passion Fruit. The impact of our farm on the local community is truly heartwarming.

Additionally, we're preparing for the next season by digging trenches for water supply pipes to facilitate drip irrigation. We believe in sharing our farming journey to inspire the next generation and our community to embrace farming, even in challenging conditions.

You'll also get an up-close look at the state of our capsicum plants. While most are producing large, green capsicums, we're encountering some issues such as color changes to red, drying, and holes with black spots. We're seeking answers to these challenges as we continue to harvest and sell capsicums, with an eye on potentially increasing production next season.

Despite the scorching sun and limited water supply, our farming efforts are making a positive impact on our community. The impact beyond the homestead is one of the reasons we initiated the farm and hope that you too will join the movement and consider producing your own food. #eatinghealthy
