Can’t believe I’m doing this but… {announcer voice} DAILY LIVE ‘SLOW TV’ style videos starting from tomorrow (Tuesday 1st November)

I’ll be streaming every day for a week, roughly one - two hours at a time, from wherever I am, depending on internet signal, and all available to watch back after.

This particular video is a tour of her boat. It’s all her own work — no help or input from me — and it’s really very good.
Fun fact: The builders of her lovely cosy narrowboat (previously owned by Ronnie O’Sullivan) were the same company that overplated the Naughty Lass in Bristol 4 years ago when I started my voyage!

These are my landlords of the year: Sean and Melissa. What they do is simple, but not at all easy — they’ve created a safe space to socialise, where family and friends can pop in and out, a real community pub with no pretentions. The Clay Tavern in Newark is their first pub, which they manage whilst juggling family life and other jobs too. So very welcoming to outsiders too, which historically is very rare for the town but so vital when travelling alone.
So as a celebration of their efforts I have decided to give them a night off during their busiest season! If you’re in Newark/Nottinghamshire on Thursday 20th December please do pop in, help me film a few video clips on phones if possible and just enjoy the night as myself (and the regular barmaid, thankfully!) serve up the full Pub of the Week experience!!
