We warn people about bad dealers all the time... But, after reviewing the documents from this latest deal done by Eddy's Toyota of Wichita, KS, I honestly believe this may be one of the worst dealership situations we’ve seen in 17 years.
According to the paperwork and evidence provided to us, a Filipino couple with limited English proficiency allegedly had:
👉 a $7,000 cash down payment improperly handled or not properly reflected in their deal structure
👉 their trade-in vehicle sold WITHOUT the title being properly transferred out of their name
👉 and thousands added in backend finance products.
The trade-in situation later became a complete nightmare.
According to the information we reviewed, the vehicle was allegedly sold to another driver while STILL tied to the original owners’ name. That driver reportedly crashed the vehicle without proper insurance, resulting in roughly $34,000 in damages claims now being pursued against the ORIGINAL owners by the State of Kansas.
The family is now fighting to avoid driver’s license suspension over a vehicle they believed had already been legally traded away.
The dealership’s reported explanation?
👉 “The employee who wrote the deal and the finance manager no longer work here.”
That does NOT erase dealership responsibility.
We have extensive documentation supporting these allegations and identified multiple serious red flags and potential legal issues during our analysis of the transaction.
This is exactly why buyers need to slow down and NEVER assume a dealership is automatically protecting their interests.
And honestly?
Had one of our coaches been involved in this deal, there’s a very good chance we would have advised these customers to avoid this dealership entirely.
