Rapper Boosie Badazz just wrote a check for half a million dollars – not to a charity, not to a scholarship fund, but to Karmelo Anthony, the 19‑year‑old convicted of murdering 17‑year‑old Austin Metcalf.

Anthony was sentenced to 35 years in prison for stabbing Metcalf during a high school track meet. Now, Boosie is using his platform – and his wallet – to support him.

Anthony’s mother, Kala Hayes, had previously launched a GiveSendGo fundraiser that raised over $627,000. Boosie’s contribution pushes that total past $1.1 million.

The donation comes despite Anthony being found guilty by a jury (with no Black members) and sentenced to 35 years for first‑degree murder.
