I just had a thought, about the "Dragontopia" expansion for Ark which has been announced for the end of this year. It seems very out of left field and not like anything Wildcard have done in Ark before.
But I have a theory. I wonder if this could possibly be the ASA version of Crystal Isles. Because here's the thing with the Ark Survival Evolved free DLC map Crystal Isles. It was very popular with a lot of people because it was a stunningly beautiful map, and had some really interesting creatures such as the Crystal Wyverns, which were a little smaller and faster than regular wyverns and had some really beautiful variants such as the tropical ones which were my favorite, with their iridescent wings. It also had a unique boss, the Crystal Wyvern Queen.
But outside of that unique content, many people felt the map was a bit lackluster. It was the easiest map to get artifacts on, because a lot of them were placed in very easy to access locations, even right out in the open. It didn't really have very interesting caves at all. It was very easy to run out of things to do fairly quickly once you had gotten all of the crystal wyverns you wanted to get, and had done the boss fight.
So I wonder if they might be reworking this map and adding some additional content, and if it might be this Dragontopia expansion. What do you think?
