It's been a few weeks now since RIAT 2023 finished, and it was a very, very WET and blustery weekend. This summer has been a bit of a wash out here in the UK.
In the hours of footage I shot during RIAT '23, a lot of it had rain running though it, so I thought I'd make hay while the sun was(n't) shining and showcase some cool runway water effects on the channel.
Check out these 13 runway drying aircraft movements from the 2023 show.

Day 7 of the countdown to RIAT 2023, and tomorrow I'm off to RAF Fairford to catch the first arrivals.
We finish our countdown with the mighty RAF CH-47 Chinook display from RIAT 2022, shot from the FRIAT Grandstand.
Check out the awesome wheelie about halfway through the display with all the weight of the helicopter sitting on the back wheels 😎
I'll be trying to release a highlights video at the end of each day on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week. We'll see how we go - umbrellas at the ready to battle the notorious British summertime! 😂

This time the awesome Belgian Viper display shot from Totterdown Hill on the Sunday of last years show, with takeoff and landing shot form the FRIAT grandstand.

Just a few days now until the first aircraft arrive for the 2023 show!
The weather forecast isn't looking quite as roasting hot as it was last year, but I've sorted out my camera with a proper water jacket, so I can film the aircraft no matter what the British weather throws at me!
Today's video in our 7 day countdown to RIAT '23 features the best heavy metal departures from the '22 show, including the rare E-4B doomsday jet as well as the JSADF Kawasaki C-2 and the USAF KC-46.
