I wrote “Carved in Jade” after being deeply inspired by The Pursuit of Jade.
There was something about the way the story portrayed love—quiet, restrained, and full of sacrifice—that stayed with me long after watching. It wasn’t loud or perfect, but it was real… the kind of love that exists even when two people can’t be together.
This song was born from that feeling.
“Carved in Jade” speaks about a love shaped by fate—beautiful, rare, and untouchable. Like jade, it is something precious… but not always meant to be held. Sometimes, love is not about ending up together, but about choosing someone in your heart, again and again, even across time and distance.
While writing this, I kept imagining a love that lives beyond one lifetime—
a connection that may not be fulfilled now, but continues somewhere, somehow.
