9 SUCCESS SECRETS OF BISHOP DAVID OYEDEPO
Bishop Oyedepo is one man that is greatly criticized for his style of ministry and affluent lifestyle.
But one thing has always struck me about him.
I’ve observed that there has never been a time that he responds to the media talks and all the barrage of attacks in the news about him from time to time.
Instead, he is committed to creating more and more success stories, to the point that by the time people are done talking about the last great work, another one is done.
I have been tremendously impacted by the powerful words of wisdom of this great servant of God, who has helped millions of peoples gain access to light and escaped the oppression of evil.
Here I try to summarize what I have studiously observed as his ways and keys of success.
1. Clarity of Purpose and Divine Direction
Bishop David Oyedepo
David O. Oyedepo, affectionately called “Papa” was born September 27, 1954 in Kwara State Nigeria. He is the founder and presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church World Wide, also known as Winners Chapel, and its affiliated international churches known as Winners Chapel International, with headquarters in Ogun State, Nigeria. Oyedepo is the senior pastor of Faith Tabernacle, a 50,000 seat church auditorium, reported to be the largest church auditorium in the world by the Guinness Book of Records
The man Bishop David Oyedepo is a strong believer in the fact that not all that glitters is gold. He believes that a man’s worth is in following a path ordained by God.
In one Shiloh night service in 2007 he said, “One wrong step is enough to crash a destiny. God has an already made plan for you. If you miss it, you’ll pay direly for it.”
In his book, Understanding Divine Direction, he tells several personal life encounters that show the importance of following the plan of God for your life.
He believes and teaches that you don’t need to be a pastor to be successful and make a great impact in life. All you need is to do whatever it takes and find the plan of God for your life and then give it your 110% effort.
In his book UNDERSTANDING VISION he gives a clear step-by-step-guide on how to discover what your life calling is and what you should focus your life on.
2. Understanding the Details of His Undertaking.
Bishop Oyedepo and Wife, Faith Oyedepo
To succeed in life we must endeavor to understand the details of our enterprise and undertaking.
Listening to Bishop David Oyedepo, one thing that you’ll quickly observe is that this is a man who fully understands the details of what he is doing. He is not doing a guess work or trial and error.
He knows where he is going and knows the exact road to take to get there. He believes one should sit down and strive to understand the details of his enterprise.
If you are called to preach, what are you called to preach? If you are called into business, what kind of business is it?
A grasp of the details of our undertaking is important for success in life and business leadership.
3. Great Seeker of Knowledge Through Books.
David Oyedpo in his Office
There was a time he went to the US and returned only with boxes full of books. When asked by the wife, what did you bring for us, he showed her the boxes full of books and said, “with this I can produce anything you’ll ever need in life”
Great leaders and successful people are always great readers and addicted knowledge seekers. They keep seeking and asking questions and getting things done in a better way.
The man of God, Dr. Oyedepo, said,
“…I am largely a product of books. I believe my worth would have been far more less than what it is today without access to life-changing books.
Before starting the Covenant University, he read all manner of books and biographies of universities, carefully finding out keys that make them succeed or fail.
Today, CU is rated among top ten Universities in Africa.
He has personally authored over 30 books and the Winners Church members are highly known as book people.
Charlie “Tremendous” Jones said, “You’re the same today as you will be in five years except for two things: the people you meet and the books you read.”
Therefore, “Seek out books from proven authors, sit down and ask sincere questions & God will answer you,” Bishop David Oyedepo.
4. Addicted to Work and Creatively Improving On a Daily Basis.
Faith-Tabernacle-Ota
This is the Faith Tabernacle, a 50,000 seat church auditorium, reported to be the largest church auditorium in the world by the Guinness Book of Records
It takes extreme hard wok and creativity to run the kind of schedule that Dr. Oyedepo runs.
Running 2 Universities, secondary schools, pastoring the largest church in the world and preaching 4 services every Sunday, authoring books and managing a bunch of estate, certainly is not for people who hate work.
But work is not just about work. You have to add creativity and productive thinking in what you are doing.

Teaching Series: Unveiling the Wonders in the Word (Pt. 2A)
Ministering: Bishop David Oyedepo
God’s Word is pregnant with wonders, and the wonders in the Word produce what can be seen. - Gen. 1:31
The wonders in the Word are good wonders.
God's Word speaks to your present and to your future. - Isa. 34:16
Every Word encounter is ordained for fulfilment when mixed with faith.
The only good ground where the Word works is an honest heart.
Prophetic words are assets!
Inject your faith, and you commit God to perform.
The blessings of the prophetic dimension of the Word are in your faith.
Ensure the Word doesn't stay in your head because circumstances can flood it away.
Keep the Word in your heart; the devil has no access to it. - Ps. 27:8
God's Word is alive forever when it's sown in a good and honest heart.
God’s Word stirs changes; spirit, soul and body.
It is walking in the light that transforms. - Isa. 60:1, John 12:35-36
Walking in the light of scriptures changes your story from glory to glory.
While you have the light, walk in it before it turns to darkness.
Whenever you have the light, and you don't dive in immediately, it fades away.
What is in the Word that Stirs Wonders?
1. God's Word is prophetic. - 2 Pet. 1:19-21
2. God's Word is ordained for fulfillment. - Isa. 14:25; 55:8
3. God's Word is alive forever. - Ps. 119:99
4. God's Word is transformational. - Rom. 12:2
5. God's Word is creative. - Matt. 17:26-27
How to Tap into the Wonders of The Word
1. Through a spiritual understanding of the Word. - Jer. 33:3
2. By responding promptly to every encounter you get from the Word. - Eph. 5:8
3. By committing to giving God all the glory for every change of story experienced. - Jer. 13:16-17
Exemption Banquet Ministration
You have been bought with a price, so you are now a Jesus property.
You are now a member of God's household, bearing the mark of royalty on your life.
You have been bought with a price; you must know your worth in redemption.
If you are in the covenant, no matter what happens in the world, it won't reach you! - Mal. 3:6-18
To exercise your exemption right in redemption:
1. Be born again. - John 3:3
2. Have a revelation of your exemption rights in Christ.
3. Develop a covenant exemption mentality. - Prov. 4:23
4. Keep the love of God alive in your heart.
5. Commit to serving God and the interests of His Kingdom. - Matt. 6:33

IMC '26 | DAY 3 MORNING | FIRST WORD
THEME: RUNNING WITH THE VISION
Now Ministering: Pastor David Oyedepo Jnr.
Message Title: Engaging the Power of Testimonies
For the first word session, Pastor David Oyedepo Jnr launched us into the world of testimonies and their place in fulfilling a divine vision.
He taught us that testimonies are parts of the tools God gives us for a triumphant adventure here on earth.
Some of the definitions of testimony given were:
1. It is the hand of God at work in the affairs of men. - Acts 19:10-11; 5-12
2. It is the raw or practical interpretation of scriptures. - Isa. 8:16-20
3. It is the validation of God's Word and a pointer to your heritage. - Mark 16:20, Acts 14:3, Ps. 119:111
Characteristics of Testimonies
1. They are vital weapons in overcoming the challenges of life. - 1 Cor. 16:9
2. They are prophetic and are powerful faith boosters. - Gen. 13:14-15, Rev. 19:10, Acts 10:34-45
3. They are a spiritual force, with the capacity to reproduce after their own kind. - Matt. 9:22; 14:35-36
Here are some of the biblical steps you need to harness the power of testimonies:
1. Believe in the integrity of the testimony and the power of God that brought it about. - Isa. 8:20, 1 Sam. 17:37
2. Celebrate the hand of God upon the testifier.
3. Believe in the steps taken and take steps to prove that you believe it. - James 2:18, 26
4. Believe God for the same result. - Heb. 13:8
5. Return all the glory to God as the result comes. - Acts 12:20-23

IMC ‘26 | OPENING NIGHT | WORD SESSION
THEME: RUNNING WITH THE VISION
Ministering: Bishop David Oyedepo
The opening night of the 2026 International Ministers Conference was great. It set the pace for greater things to come. Here is a bit of what we gleaned from tonight's session.
- A vision is a lifelong journey, not a one-time event.
- Every heavenly vision is an election of grace. You are not called because you are an expert, but because you are a nonentity.
- A vision will never see the light of day by just being heavenly; it needs to be scripturally driven to stand out.
- Vision is in the form of a book, made up of chapters. Don't open the chapter; let God open it. - Isa. 29:11
- Every divine agenda is entitled to divine supplies when pursued in line with the scriptures.
Proofs of Heavenly Vision
1. It secures divine presence which stirs God's confidence, putting you in command of the supernatural. - Phil. 3:3, 4:3
2. It brings joy unspeakable. - Ps. 89:15, 16:11, Luke 10:17
3. It brings peace like a river. - Isa. 48:17-21, Ps. 68:8
Channels of Vision
1. Through the voice of God. - John 10:27
2. Through Rhema — the voice of God behind scriptures. - Isa. 34:16
3. Through the ministry of prophets. - Hos. 12:10
Finally, remember, it is God's backing that is behind the sustainable impact in ministry. - 1 Cor. 15:10

YOUR FUTURE IS NOT IN YOUR HISTORY, BUT IN YOUR DECISIONS! ✨
As we launch into another week of academic excellence, spiritual empowerment, and path-finding innovation, the Chancellor, Dr. David Oyedepo, reminds us: “You become whatever you live for. Your destiny is not determined by your history, but by your decisions."It is a new week to move beyond excuses and embrace responsibility.
Remember, nothing works until you work!
Be Strategic: Think solution, not problems.
Be Diligent: Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings!
Be Focused: Guard your heart and time; stay committed to the vision. Do not settle for a mediocre approach to life. You are a generation of reformers, ordained to set the pace and repair the desolations of many generations.
Prophetic Declaration for the Week:
This week, you will not be put to shame! Doors of opportunity will open for you, and your efforts will produce tangible results. You are walking in favor and divine wisdom.
It is your week of high-flying breakthroughs!

Message Title: Understanding the Power of Thanksgiving. (Part A)
Ministering: Bishop David Oyedepo
Thanksgiving is one of the carriers of God's power.
We owe God thanks as a way of life.
Thanksgiving is a debt you owe that must be paid before you experience the next hand of God in your life.
Your thanksgiving must be timely to avoid a reversal.
We don't talk about accomplishments in the Kingdom; we talk about engracement.
We don’t give thanks just for things in our lives; we give thanks to make things happen. - 1 Thess. 5:18
When you give God thanks for your breath, He supplies your bread.
It is thanksgiving that changes you from one level to another.
If you don’t give God thanks for where you are, you will not change level.
You can’t gain access to God’s presence without thanksgiving. The more committed you are to thanking God, the brighter your access to revelation.
The worst enemy of thanksgiving is PRIDE.
Why Do We Give Thanks?
1. Thanksgiving is a debt we owe God both as individuals and as a church. - Luke 17:17.
2. We owe God thanks for every good thing we see in our lives. - James 1:17, Eph. 5:20.
3. We give thanks to avoid a reversal of blessings. - Mal. 2:2-3.
4. Thanksgiving is a gateway to scaling new heights. - Hab. 3:17-19, 1 Thess. 5:18, Heb. 10:36.
5. Thanksgiving is the fruit of our lips that guarantees returns on our investment of time, energy and resources in stewardship. - Prov. 13:2, Heb. 13:15.
6. Thanksgiving is the mystery that moves us from one level to another. - Ps. 92:12.
7. Thanksgiving facilitates access to revelation. - Ps. 100:4; 16:11
8. Thanksgiving engenders breakthroughs in our endeavours. - Isa. 54:1-3, Ps. 92:1.
9. Thanksgiving provokes and sustains Church growth. - Jer. 30:19, John 6:44.
10. Thanksgiving secures the fulfilment of prophecies. - 1 Thess. 5:18, Heb. 10:36.
