Greetings everyone,

While TreeBark Productions is not a political channel, there is a current political issue I would like to address.

Recently, the British government has enacted a ban on children under 16 from social media apps including YouTube. This law follows a version currently being enforced by Australia. I am 100% opposed to this.

While protecting kids online should always be a top priority, doing it via a blanket ban is not the means to achieve it. Governments should encourage parents to be more proactive in PARENTING their children. Parents should decide their children's platform of entertainment, not the government.

I started this channel in 2020, when I was 14 years old. I started this channel because I was inspired by other LEGO stop motion YouTubers, many of whom created their first videos when they were under 16. Had this law been in effect in the United States at the time, this channel may not exist and I would not be where I am today.

We all live in democratic nations, and it is incumbent upon each one of us to make our voices heard so our governments "secure these rights" as the Founding Fathers of America wrote 250 years ago.

I encourage all of you to do your own research into this matter and I have attached a news link below if you need a place to start from.
