This Global Accessibility Awareness Day, Tata Power Renewables brought together its workforce, accessibility advocates, institutions, and industry experts at Tirunelveli to drive meaningful conversations and experiential learning around accessibility and disability inclusion.
In collaboration with IIT Madras (The Accessibility Research Centre, IIT Madras & R2D2 IIT Madras), National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD), NIEPVD, v-shesh, Karna Vidya Foundation, and Dr. MGR Janaki College, the initiative featured immersive Experience Zones, interactive workshops, exhibition stalls, and a panel discussion on “Accessibility at Work” — enabling participants to experience accessibility through real-world simulations, assistive technologies, and inclusive workplace practices.
The Experience Zones included wheelchair accessibility experiences by NCAHT-IIT Madras and visual and hearing impairment simulations by NIEPMD, while the workshops and exhibition stalls encouraged participants to engage with accessibility-focused activities, communication simulations, AR/VR-based tactile experiences, and assistive solutions.
The panel discussion featured distinguished speakers including Dr. Saji K Mathew, Professor, IIT Madras & Co-founder – The ARC; Rajasekharan Pazhaniappan (Mr. Raja), Co-founder, V-Shesh; Anandhalakshmi SK, NIEPMD; Dr. Raghuraman K, Government Arts College, Nandanam; Gokul Prasath S, NCAHT-IIT Madras; and Mr. Balaji Parthsarthy, CEO – TP Solar Ltd., who shared perspectives on workplace accessibility, disability inclusion, and building opportunities for all.

As EV journeys get longer, the need for faster and more reliable charging infrastructure becomes increasingly important. Strengthening this shift towards cleaner mobility, Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL), in collaboration with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), has expanded its ultra-fast EV charging network on the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway.
Strategically located at the 63 & 69 Milestones on the Haryana stretch, the newly inaugurated stations feature 240 kW ultra-fast chargers with four charging guns for quicker and more efficient charging.
