DISASTER STRIKES RIFF ARCADE! LAPTOP FAILS!

Hello Riff Raff! We bring some unfortunate news for the channel. This past week, our main laptop for recording/streaming/editing had an SSD failure that took with it all of our raw footage for the next several episodes. So for the next month or two, until we can get back in the studio and make some new episodes, the usual Saturday episodes will take a short break.

Streams and shorts will continue as usual! We should be able to make enough shorts with pre-existing footage to keep those coming out as usual. The Thursday night streams will also continue, although at a possibly lower quality until the streaming laptop is brought back up to speed.

The good news is, the SSD in the laptop has already been replaced and is back up and running, although we're starting over from a fresh install. Once we get everything installed, set up, and tested, we should be fully back on our feet within a few weeks.

As usual, thanks for the support, Riff Raff! See you on the next episode, whenever that may be! We'll keep you posted!

Huge thanks once again to you guys and gals, the Riff Raff, for helping us continue to blow through milestone after milestone. As usual, we continue to search for new ways to entertain you, so we have a lil project we're working on right now over on the music side of things. LIVE STREAMING IS COMING BACK TO YOUTUBE!!!

In short: Tuesday night streams are back on YouTube at 8 pm! Our Wed and Thurs streams are still on Twitch, but they might eventually move to YouTube as well. (EDIT: Our Wed. and Thurs. streams are also now here on YouTube!)

In long: We've got news, Riff Raff! For several years now, we've been releasing our videos to YouTube, but our live streams have been on Twitch. This was because we gained Twitch Affiliate status and got some perks that we weren't able to get on YouTube.

However! We've started gaining a ton of new subs and views right here on YouTube, so in an effort to make ourselves more available to you, we've decided to bring streaming back to YouTube! If things go really well, we'll eventually move our Wednesday and Thursday night streams here as well. In other words, if you show up, we'll burn that Twitch Affiliate contract for you guys. What are they gonna do? Sue us? (Please don't sue us, Amazon)

So stop on by Tuesday nights at 8 pm and say hi! To kick things off for the summer, Josh is playing through the underrated NES darling, StarTropics! It's the NES equivalent to Dark Souls!

tl;dr We're going to try some new formats. Let us know what you like and what you don't!

Hi Riff Raff! Over the past few months, we've had a lot of new subs coming through the door, and we wanted to say a quick thank you and we look forward to bringing you more entertaining content every single week! To that end, we also want to let you all know that we're going to take advantage of our growing popularity and...well...we're going to experiment. Now that we finally have enough of a fanbase to start getting good feedback about what people like, don't like, and want to see more of, we've started to make some supplemental content that's a little off brand for us. We're trying to find something that really clicks. For example, our most recent video "Rocket League is the worst game ever made" is our first attempt at an "enrage to engage" style video. Not quite full on true rage bait, but nevertheless, we're trying to get some discussions going over there.

The point is, over the next few months, be on the lookout for random videos/shorts that might drop in the middle of the week or some interesting spins on our traditional Let's Play content.

But most importantly, let us know if you like it! Give us some feedback and help to shape us into the channel you want to see! If you have any video game suggestions or even new types of videos/shorts you want to see us try, let us know! We want to hear from you any time, any where, around the globe.

On 1/25/25, Riff Arcade rolled out a new feature to the channel: Live Shows! We performed for the Classic City Marathon in Athens, Georgia, keeping runners pumped and passers-by delighted with iconic hits from video games including Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong Country, and Castlevania!

If you're in the northeast Georgia area, keep a lookout for us as we begin to schedule more shows! We'll keep you posted here as well. The show was a smash hit, but as usual, now we keep growing and improve until we fill theaters and deliver unbeatable experiences! Watch out Bit Brigade! (I'm kidding, Bit Brigade, we love you. Please don't hurt us.)

This year for Christmas, Josh gave himself the gift of cleaning out the closet at his parents' house and finally organizing and cataloging every gaming magazine he's ever owned by series and issue number. Now he has a nice organized library filled with Nintendo Powers, GamePros, EGMs, PSMs, OPMs, and Game Informers. Ahhhhh, nostalgia.
