AVADII Strategy

Hello dear community!
I just upgraded my AVADII-Essentials mod to support version 2.1 mods.factorio.com/mod/AVADII-Essentials
So for those of you who want to use my time control/biter creep removal mod with the new experimental Factorio version 2.1.7: you can keep using it!
Since space casinos are now removed from the game I'll work on a video showcasing how to make quality in 2.1 (spoiler it will actually be easier than space casinos).

Stay tuned!

The balance mod "AVADII Rebalance" is now publicly available in the mod portal.
Just type in my name and you'll find it. I've done some playtesting already and will continue to do so after releasing the next Alpha Cygni episode. I'm on patch 2.0.66 but have not tested compatibility with previous versions. If you're on an older version and the mod fails to load please let me know!
Have fun! -> mods.factorio.com/mod/AVADII-Rebalance

Hello dear viewers, I'm currently working on a balance mod. The goal is to change a couple of things that are imho too strong and result in the game being a bit too easy (when absuing these items/entities).
I epecially don't like that you can complete the game and get very very far without the necessity to expand the base (and use trains). If you take a look at my current Alpha Cygni run for example it's kinda silly how small factories are these days. A couple of weeks ago I made a video about nerfs and a lot of viewers said "no we don't want changes. make a mod if you don't like it".
And that's exactly what I will do. I hope that some of you want to download it and give it a try.
The goal is not to make the game hardcore or annoying or unbeatable. Most players probably won't even notice the changes. I want to create settings that make the game better than it already is.
There are 2 things that I still have to figure out though:
1. Do I want to release a changelog and tell players what exactly changed? I think it's way more interesting to play it blind on the other hand I can also understand that players want to know what changed to make a decision. Your opinion?
2. The name of the mod. I came up with 2 ideas below that you can vote on. If you have something better in mind let me know!

Hello dear viewers, the 5 strategies video I released today is the first video using youtubes AI auto dubbing feature, which means you can watch it in multiple AI generated languages.
I'm not entirely sure if enabling this technology is a good idea, sometimes when I want to watch content I'm annoyed by platforms detecting where I'm from and switching to AI voice/title.
Let me know what you think about it!

Hello dear viewers, thank you for the amazing support on www.patreon.com/AVADII where some of you picked up a membership to get all Alpha Cygni Blueprints and Savegames (Rare membership). I also just added all Sigma Draconis Savegames (the 1000X run).
After a week off I'm working on new videos right now. I'll probably do some guides before continuing the 1M eSPM run because the last episodes really struggled to find viewers (the Aquilo video barely broke 10k views). So apparently most of my audience doesn't really enjoy the longer content as much (or is Aquilo so boring?) which is why I want to deliver more condensed content again.

Oh, even though members on patreon have access to all blueprints and saves, of course I will still provide free blueprints if I create videos about specific designs, just like in the past. So nothing really changed for you if you're just watching here on YT!

Ok, I guess after reading multiple suggestions from viewers about displaying a timer in my Alpha Cygni playthrough I have to explain why I won't do it:
Let's use Hawk's ‪@hawk6887‬ opinion as a baseline for the discussion:
"a timer definitely helps someone grasp effort imo. An edited segment can easily cut out hours of tinkering which can cut context and appreciation for a viewer. Speed/time isn't a goal, but it's a helpful metric for people to keep track of total savegame time."

Okey, there are a couple of serious problems with this argument. ‪@MichaelHendriks‬ is using a timer for his 1000X run. You can see the ingame timer all the time. But he is actually "tinkering" around for hundreds of hours in editor mode and then loading the last save using this gained knowledge and blueprints. So how does the ingame timer reflect effort in this case? If you instead tinker around in your actual playthrough without reloading some savegame, is that less effort? Because it leads to a higher number of hours played at some arbitrary milestone? Of course not.

And to make it very clear, this is not an attack on Mike and his run at all. He's not hiding his "tinkering around" or the fact that he is preplanning a lot. It's part of the methodical playstyle he has. We both are not pretending to be speedrunners in any way. It's not about speed. That's the point!

So if I display a number as a metric for people to judge my effort based on that number, the obvious and optimal way to play would be to preplan and blueprint everything in advance to reach every milestone at a low number of hours played. If something takes longer as expected: just replay this part to keep the number low so viewers will be impressed by the number?
No. That's absolutely pointless and not the way I want to tackle this playthrough. If you care about a player reaching a goal in a minimal amount of time I'm sure you know where to go to. Factorio has some amazing speedrunners posting world records and stuff. That's not what I do though.

(english version)
Hello dear german audience, recently I've noticed quite a lot of germans in the comment section asking me why I don't make content in german, speak german and so on.
The answer is very simple: because I can't. YouTube does have a multi-language audio feature that would allow me to record a dedicated audio track in german but this feature is NOT available to me.
It seems like YouTube is only giving this very beneficial technology to very large content creators.
So if you want a german audio track: stop asking me, ask YouTube and tell them to roll out this feature to all partnered creators!
Or subscribe to the channel maybe I'll get it at 100k subs but I doubt it.

(german version)
Yo was geht?

If you don't care about hardware/GPUs you can stop reading here.
I'm not a tech channel but if you consider upgrading your GPU to the NVIDIA 5060TI I have a warning for you.
First of all: don't but 8GB VRAM models. Period. There are a lot of reviews out there showcasing why.
Second: be careful when considering the MSI Ventus 2X model.
It has a crappy cooler with 2x 90mm fans that will spin up to 2300 RPM under load which is noisy.
I had to return the card and got an ASUS Dual OC instead.
Day and night difference. It's slightly heavier with 2x 95mm fans and clearly has the way better cooler (I guess that's where the extra weight went...).
1500-1600 RPM under load, no noticeable noise.

These are the cards I tested:

www.asus.com/motherboards-components/graphics-card…
www.msi.com/Graphics-Card/GeForce-RTX-5060-Ti-16G-…

PS: I checked some reviews here on YT of the Ventus and it seems like the high RPM are normal so it wasn't just my card. I'm not sponsored by ASUS or any brand at all.
