5S is one of the easiest Lean tool to implement, however it is the most difficult tool to sustain.
Many Professionals think of it as just another lean tool, but it is more than that.
It requires a different approach in implementation.
Senior management Participation, easy to implement steps and regular reviews and recognitions for the team are vital for sustenance.
Many companies miss these critical steps and hence could not sustain 5S for long term.
We have broken down 5S implementation into small, practical and easy to understand steps to help your team restart 5S in a different way to sustain the results.
This approach has worked in more than 20 companies and is sustaining very well.
Now, we are taking this approach to small and medium size manufacturing companies and help them implement and sustain 5S for long term.
We are starting a 6 months 5S Implementation Program with weekly sessions of one hour. This First Batch program would be FREE for the participants.

7 Steps to create Just-In-time Production.
1. Layout has to be designed for the flow of the materials - machines aligned based on the process sequence
2. Continuous Flow to be created
3. Wherever Continuous Flow is not possible, use Kanban and Supermarkets to create the flow
4. Line has to be balanced - cycle times have to be uniform (Line Balancing)
5. Setup time has to be minimum (ideally less than a minute) - through SMED
6. Zero Defects - Through PokaYoke and Jidoka
7. Zero Breakdowns of the machines - through TPM
Just in Time is not possible when the flow is interrupted frequently.
Processes have to be stabilised to enable the JIT concept. For example.g. if there are frequent defects in the line, frequent machine breakdowns, you cannot implement JIT.
Each Lean Tool help you in addressing these specific issues and collectively they help in creating the Flow which will help in JIT.
