Slomatics Guitar Tuning/Tone Rundown
@slomatics have one of the heaviest tones in doom metal and pull it off with two guitarist and without a bass player using one of the lowest drop tunings
With the two guitarist using a very unique drop tuning that is based around C# standard, with the lowest 6th string dropped down all the way to F# to be an octave lower than the 4th string, and the 1st string dropped down to B
Running a pair of Matamp GT120 amps, and different Fuzz Face style pedals over the years. A few years back we worked with David Majury to come up with the Fuzzlord Troglodyte combining elements of the Fuzz Face tone he used with section of the Green Russian Big Muff to pair with his incredibly low tuning
The MXR Phaser and Analog Delay also worked to add depth to the bands sound and give depth, as well as the boss space echo which has been spotted on their boards for years and is one of my personal all time favorite pedals
