I’ve been a bit quieter lately, and I wanted to tell you why.

Most of you know me as the guy from Gogetyours Reviews who’s always chasing the next big bargain or tech find. But behind the scenes, the "hyper" energy has been a bit harder to find. Between working late shifts, supporting my two kids for years, and now navigating a much bigger battle, life has been heavy.

Years ago, my kids challenged me to hit 1,000 subs. I did it in a 3-foot cubicle with an old Samsung S5, £3 tripod and a paper-mâché backdrop. Today, we’re at 22,500, and in a cabin studio. The dream is still that 100,000 subscriber award—not for the fame, but so my kids can look at that wall one day and know that their dad never gave up, no matter how hard life got.

I’m still here. I’m still reviewing. It might be a bit more "toned down" for a while as I balance being a son, a dad, and a creator, but the reviews will always be 100% truthful.

Wow, it's been a while, but we woke up this morning to 22,000 subscribers! That is absolutely amazing, and I want to say a huge thank you to every single person who has subscribed and stuck around.


This might not be your normal tech channel. We aim to be a bit different, and I hope to give more time to make even better content for you all. As you may know, this isn't a full-time gig for me—I work a normal day job. My dream, though, is that the channel has a leap in the near future and that I am able to review products from dusk till dawn.

Feel supported by your community

For the first seven days after you publish a video, viewers will have the option to hype it. Viewers can hype videos at no cost up to three times a week.



 

Leaderboard discoverability

When your video is hyped, it receives points. The more you get, the higher the video climbs on the leaderboard, which appears under the Explore section. You also have the potential to be promoted in the YouTube Home feed and to receive badges showing that the video is a favourite of viewers.



 

Smaller creators receive a bonus to level the playing field

Hype was developed for emerging creators in the YouTube Partner Programme. When viewers hype, bonus points are automatically applied for emerging creators based on their number of subscribers. The fewer the subscribers, the bigger the bonus!
