Fáilte romhat, a chara - you are welcome my friend.
Welcome to a slower way of living, nestled between the mountains and the sea in the Irish countryside.
Inspired by Irish heritage and the natural world, this channel is a gentle invitation to slow down and reconnect with the land, the seasons and the simple rituals of home. Rooted in Irish traditions and the beauty of rural life, I share moments from my garden and kitchen: growing food, baking, crafting, and finding peace in the everyday.
No rush, no stress. Just slow living, the old way - one quiet moment at a time.
Téigh liom i mo dhomhan ciúin - come with me into my quiet world.

Happy Midsummer! ☀️ There is a magical stillness to these long, golden days. In our latest video, I’m sharing how we celebrated the Summer Solstice—from the quiet rhythm of the garden at its peak to [mention a detail, e.g., baking something seasonal / a quiet walk].
I hope this video brings a little piece of midsummer calm to your day. Grab a cool drink and come spend a few slow moments with me. 🌿✨

🌧️ A cozy, rainy day update from the cottage...
The Irish weather definitely had other ideas for us this week! Because of the endless misty rain (and a little tumble that has me resting my knee!), the outdoor projects I wanted to do had to wait and my video is late but it will be up today.
Instead, we are leaning into the comfort of a slow, rainy day. In today's new video, we're hiding out in the kitchen making some vibrant, colorful cottage treats—three different kinds of vegan chia pudding topped with thick yogurt and fresh berries. We also take a deeply peaceful drive through the lush green lanes, watch the nesting birds taking shelter in the garden, and let the dogs take over the house to escape the drizzle.
If you need a gentle space to unwind today, put the kettle on, grab a warm cup of tea, and come join us at the hearth. ☕✨

The garden is truly beginning to wake up now, and getting the summer seeds started feels so full of hope. I've just shared a new video where we head into the greenhouse to sow some old-fashioned cottage garden favorites, take a peaceful drive through the green lanes, and catch a spectacular Irish sunset with the dogs (who definitely stole the show this time! 🐾).
If you need a gentle moment to slow down today, grab a cup of tea and come join us in the garden.

The garden is sounding a little different today! ⛲ I finally got around to setting up the new fountain and bird bath—there’s nothing quite like the sound of trickling water to start the day.
In today’s video, we’re taking a slow walk through the blooms, enjoying a garden breakfast, and ending the day with some candlelight. I’d love to know—do you have a favorite spot in your garden (or a local park) where you go to find a moment of peace?

I was so touched by the stories you shared in the comments of my latest video about the May Bush. It seems this tradition holds so many memories for us! If you haven't seen it yet, the link is in my bio/below. How are you welcoming May this week?

This little hooligan had fun this week, she got into my knitting bag and also brought a rat she caught outside into the house! She's lucky she's such a cutie! 😂❤️

I made Traditional Soda Bread. Have you ever tasted it? It's very easy and quick to make but tastes delicious!

My wonderful daughter brought me to a Castle for afternoon tea for Mother’s Day. It was so beautiful and very posh, I could get used to that life! 😄 My new video shows our day out. The castle is on an island and we had to get a ferry to cross over to it.

Spring is here and I'm decorating my sitting room with little touches of fun Spring decor. I love to add fun little bunnies and floral touches to brighten up the room as there are still plenty of wet dull days.
Is it Spring where you are? Do you decorate for Spring?
